About Me: My Solution To Not Enough Space In An "About Me" Box.

General Basic

i'm female, 19, 5'8", with auburn-brown hair (short-cropped). my eyes match my hair. for the record, i'm openly bisexual leaning towards lesbian. if you don't like it, get over it. i'm not flaming gay and i won't try to "convert" you or any such nonsense. i'm just warning you so as to avoid any potential confusion if i mention a girlfriend or suchlike. i'm actually currently dating a boy; we met at the gay pride parade.

i'm zhibrina or zhibrina256 all over the place, but primarily zhibrina/zhi on 1up.com; i'm chione monifa (aka: "Lady CM") on stargatewars.com; i'm lady resh on v3.ruletheseas.com (that's the third version of rule the seas / RTS); and on yahoo, while my username is zhibrina256, i go by "Laidy"; i play on WoW under many names; in fiesta i'm nayanda. i also play utopia.

General 2.0

i'm complex. you see, i don't fit into a single category and i like a bunch of different things and have a lot of different styles. my likes are varied and my dislikes few. i play piano, some guitar, and various simple wind instruments (like recorders, small flutes, panflutes, and ocarinas... i'm starting the harmonica, but that doesn't really count). i plan on learning violin. i used to be into basketball and some martial arts before massive spinal cord surgeries to remove a benign cavernous hemangioma. since it left my left side partially paralyzed and my right side without feeling, i've since taken to t'ai chi ch'uan for physical therapy and pain relief. also DDR. =) i'm a total science/videogame/anime/fantasy nerd. there's no denying it so i'll tell you right now ;P i even play D&D. and love it. =.= a lot... ahem so, that's all i can think of right now. for the general stuff. below is a little more of the specifics...

on a more personal note, i'm a scientist and a professional writer. i'm currently working towards a B.S. Biology, B.S. Marine Sciences, B.S. Microbiolgy, and a minor in Genetics. i want to me a marine microbial evolutionary geneticist, focusing in sulfur-oxidizing chemosynthetic bacteria. as for my most recent stuff as a writer. my main concentraion at the moment is going to 13 books long. i've completely completed one and mostly finished two others, have solid ideas for 5 more, and have general ideas for the other 5. they're all very fantasy with magic, elves, dragons, dwarves, a halfing race, spirits, reincarnated spirits, everything; but i put a new, non-traditional spin on it all since i'm tire of the same-old same-old fantasy. i really go in-depth with my mythology too and HOW my magic system works. it's important to have a solid foundation. i have another series of 4 i'm working on that is set in a fantasy post-apocolyptic-1920s feel based on four different nations (each of which is based on a different ancient civilization) with one book for each nation; there is no magic or anything in these books, which is odd because of how low-tech and fantasy i tend to be...shrug w/e. i also have another mini-series of 2 or 3 that is very low-tech fantasy, but with a very small role for magic and reincarnation in the first part, but not much thereafter. i mean, it plays a huge role in the overall plot, but is not used much at all.. if that makes any sense...

Books

pretty much any fantasy/scifi. my favorites right now are the "saga of recluce" and "corean chronicles" series (and anything else by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. who is AWESOME), the "devery" series by katherine kerr who is also AWESOME, "dragonlance: legends" trilogy ("chronicles" was good too), "night" by elie wiesel, LotR (of course), harry potter (but i'm not fangirlesque), "guardians of time" trilogy, "midnighters" trilogy, "warfare in the classical world", shakespeare, "celtic myths and legends", "gift of the river" which i'm still having trouble finding a copy of >.<, "the ancient gods speak".... and a bunch of other stuff, including anything egyptian, fantasy, greek, roman, or celtic mythology.. or anything mythology for that matter...

Music

i like just about all types of music.. except for a lot of mainstream rap and pop. i'm mostly into rock/hard rock/metal/techno-metal, j-rock, classical, celtic, jazz, lotr-ish stuff, feng shui music...

TV

action, fantasy, scifi, comedy, history, w/e... my FAVORITE is stargate sg-1 and atlantis, doctor who, FMA, bleach, and i'll indulge in the occasional shippuden. i also like startrek (NG and voyager), CSI (all of them), monty python's flying circus, without a trace (the older seasons), law and order (sometimes, including the regular and CI and sometimes SVU), robot chicken, family guy, futurama, colber report, monk numb3rs, psych, and classic cartoons ^^

Movies

action, fantasy, scifi, comedy, history, w/e... i like stargate, starwars, startrek (noticing a pattern), LotR (esp TT), v for vendetta, PoC, eddie izzard, finding nemo, monty python, edward scissorhands, sweeney todd, kung fu panda, transformers, chicago, troy, HP, hairspray, and loads more...

Clothes. Yes, I said it: Clothes.

okay, normally i don't care about looks, but my style inevitably comes up when i meet people. i mostly wear jeans but sometimes i wear peasant skirts (long or knee-length) or those really cute skirts i have that stop just above the knee that are made from a light material and have nifty draw-string cargo pockets. oh, and i've recently discovered these ADORABLE jean skorts that i like to wear unique knee-highs with and.... *ahem* (sorry, girl moment). i sometimes wear leggings with my shorter skirts as well. as to shirts, i either wear printed tees (which usually have a witty phrase or nerdy joke or a cool looking pattern or picture on it) or plain, limited colorness shirts, usually with a collared shirt over top (typically white or black with the long sleeves rolled up). with these shirts, i normally wear a tie or nifty knee socks / thigh-highs or both if they match. i have a strange collection of funky ties, most of which i found at goodwill (you have to search, but you can find a lot of cool stuff at goodwill and consignment shops). as for makeup, i wear eyeliner (a smidge thicker than normal, all on the bottom and fading from the outside in on the top, usually ending about 3/4 way through) and mascara to bring out my god-gifted long eyelashes. the only other makeup i wear is lipstick either a natural color (like sheer bronze or something) or a very-not-natural color (like *dark* bronze, blood red, dark burgundy, purple, that kind of stuff). i also wear a lot of bangles, wristbands, and assorted bracelets (i tend to have metal on my right wrist and beads or wristbands on my left). i also wear varying necklaces usually a chocker or something and a lower couple necklaces most commonly a quartz crystal and a good luck carving from the dominican republic. i also have double piercings on both ears, a third upper piercing on my right ear, and a small stud on my left nostril. i tend to go with unique earrings and i even customized a really cool chain that goes down from my upper piercing, spreads into three small chains near my second lower ear piercing, and converges at my first piercing. from there it fans out into another three dangling small chains. i think it's nifty myself (though i am the one who created it afterall *lol*). oh and one last thing, i sometimes still walk with a cane when i'm tired. part of the whole spinal surgery thing, but most people think it's an accessory and that i'm just that snazzy =P
