Composting can be defined as the controlled bio-remediation of bioorganic waste into readily useable food for plants and plant friendly soil organisms.

Unlike chemical fertilizers, Compost not only contains plant and soil nutrients: it also has organic matter that promotes soil health.

When used as mulch, compost softens the impact of direct rainfall unto exposed topsoil, thereby reducing topsoil erosion and leaching.

Besides being plant food, Compost, as bioorganic matter is also food for soil friendly organisms like earthworms and other micro soil organisms that promote the overall good health of plants, from the tip of the roots up to the top of the tree.
