Object Creator v0.2

Something I never thought will happen with Liberty City Stories is the fan made software that now starts to pop up. As most of you know by now Edison Carter's Cheat Device enables us to do a lot more in Liberty City Stories. It later then had the ability to create your own custom cheats. The LCS CheatSync then came along that allows you to choose several cheats, made by fans, from a large database. Now someone created the LCS Object Creator.

It basicly does what its name says. You can create an object, or rather 3d model, that's already found in the games code. This allows you to build your own maps, like stunt parks, new islands or anything possible with the 3d models that's found in Liberty City Stories. The latest version is still a bit buggy, but future releases will include a map of Liberty City that will make it easy to get the coordinates of the location you want to place your objects. Examples of custom maps are for instance the Wolf Side Hill or The Cruise Ship. When you created your objest(s), you can save it to your cheats.txt file that must be uploaded in your PSPs root directory. You'll need the latest Cheat Device from Edison Carter in order for this to work.

Cheat Device v0.8 for all firmware versions:
US/Canada version 0.8:
CheatDevice08bUS.zip
UK/EU version 0.8: CheatDevice08bUK.zip

Unzip the archive to your memory card so the files go in PSP/SAVEDATA/ULUS10041S0 if you're installing the US version, PSP/SAVEDATA/ULES00151S0 for the UK version. This replaces the first save on the card.

To start CheatDevice, simply load it like a saved game. You can then load another save if you want and CheatDevice stays in memory.

Disclaimer: THIS CAN CRASH YOUR GAME. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. USE 333MHZ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Don't save your game after using this.

LCS PS2 Preview coming next month

UPDATE: I just received a scan of the PSW article thanks to Thomas Kirk. View it by clicking here.

In the latest issue of the british publication, PSW, they did an article about Liberty City Stories for the PS2. Mainly the article was just pure speculation and what they thought R* Leeds might do with the PS2 version of the game. However they did promise an exclusive preview to be in their next issue that'll include screenshots of the game. If you have that magazine with you then I'd just like to inform you the screens included in that article are pre-release screenshots for the PSP version of the game. We'll have more details early next month about PSW's preview and from a few others. Stay tuned!

As you can see there are quite a few limited edition Liberty City Stories stuff you can win, including a PSP console. However the competition is only open to legal residents of the U.S. age 18 or older. So for the rest of us living outside of the US, we'll just have to stand back and continue playing our copies of Liberty City Stories. Good luck to everyone who's eligible to enter! The entry deadline, and prize drawing, is February 28th.

Liberty City Stories for the Playstation 2!

Liberty City Stories for the Playstation 2!

What is so ironic about this news post, is that during the pre-game of Liberty City Stories, numerous people asked me if Liberty City Stories would be coming out for the Playstation 2. Time and time again I told them that it would be an exclusive for the PSP and would not be coming out on any console, nor the PC.

Well Take-Two Interactive just changed that today! In the latest press release from Take-Two, it clearly states the following:

Additional products expected for fiscal 2006 include the newly announced Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for PlayStation 2, tentatively planned for release in the second quarter.

I'm as shocked as you are on this one! So basicly you would be enjoying Liberty City Stories on the Playstation 2, sometime during February, March and April of this year. Additional titles include an all new Grand Theft Auto for the PSP and a sequel of a Rockstar brand (say.. Grand Theft Auto 4?). Yes, you heard me. An all new Grand Theft Auto for the PSP. This most likely means we would be playing in a brand new city, and Rockstar did not consider creating a game based on a previous city in the series, such as Vice City.

We'll be looking forward to the PS2 version of Liberty City Stories. Take-Two is about to report their fiscall 2005 year end results in a conference call, which you can listen to on their site. We hope to hear more of GTA: LCS for the PS2.

Links:Take-Two Interactive Fiscal 2005 Financial Results and conference.

Additional details from the conference was that Liberty City Stories was the top selling title from Take-Two during the fourth quarter of 2005, represending about 12% of all sales from the company. Of course, questions would be raising about the PS2 version of LCS. What about multiplayer ? Will it be possible to play LCS online ? Will it be just ported over to the PS2, or will new content and flyable helicopters (without cheat devices) even be added in the final game. All will be revealed soon....

CheatSync v0.2 for Liberty City Stories
The previous CheatSync was downloaded a few thousand times on this website that I decided to post the newest version that is way better than the one before. First of all I would call this one a very stable version. For those of you who used the previous one, would remember that some of the cheats didn't work. Well the new version has a so called traffic light system that makes it easier for people to locate the working cheats. Working cheats are marked green, those that don't are marked red, while those that are unverified are marked yellow. More information after the jump:
