Scotland FreeREG

FreeREG stands for Free REGisters.

The FreeREG Project's objective is to provide free Internet searches of baptism, marriage, and burial records, which have been extracted from parish registers and non-conformist church records in the UK.

This is a part of the FreeUKGEN Project and companion project to FreeBMD, which is a database of the GRO birth, marriage and death indexes from 1837, as well as a sister project to FreeCEN

For more information on the FreeREG project please visit http://freereg.rootsweb.com/index.htm

This project is dedicated to the transcription of Scotland's Old Parish Records.

We currently need Scotland County Coordinator's and volunteers to transcribe the Old Parish Records. If you would like to help or simply check the status of a Scottish County please visit http://freereg.rootsweb.com/parishes/index.htm. Or you can contact , Scotland Coordinator, for information on which parishes are available.

If you are interested in Aberdeenshire, please contact me,
The project is just starting and most parishes are available.
