Abbey Light Railway

Welcome to the official website of the Abbey light Railway. We are a privately owned narrow gauge railway running from our depot on Bridge road into the grounds of the historic Kirkstall Abbey.

Passenger trains operate on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays 1:00 - 5:00pm only (unless otherwise advertised on this site) throughout the year, hauled by at least one of our vintage diesel locomotives.

A note for none broadband users:

This website has a lot of photographs on it, and it may take a while for slow connections to load them all. The only page that isn't is Fares, opening times and location.
