Every society is prone to mis-understandings which may eventually leads to conflicts. In such state of affairs the progress of human race can be accelerated to a reverse gear and ultimately dooms the future.

In this backdrop, All Bhutan Artists' Association (ABAA) has taken up ground to educate public through the invisible weapon  of music.We firmly believe that musical waves can even pierce the hardest heart and can be made responsive to urgent human sufferings.

ABAA envision of a peaceful and cohesive Bhutanese society that has mutual respect and trust which is the foundation for a prosperous Bhutan. It seeks to minimise social stigma and superstition through musical therapy and endeavor to give the message of Universal Brotherhood.

With the view to protect and promote social, legal and economic interest of the professional artists' (musicians, singers, dancers, actors, lyricists and script writers); and to generate international awareness about the violation of human rights in Bhutan, lack of democracy, Bhutanese refugee crisis, and to promote good will and cooperation among the artists worldwide; All Bhutan Artist association (ABAA) is borne on 8th December 2001.

ABAA represents about five hundred performers including all the artists as defined by the constitution. The administering offices of the association are located in Kathmandu and Arjundhara -2 Jhapa, where contact persons are the Vice President and the President respectively. It has branch committees in each camp with a Chief Coordinator. The three units: i) ABAA Musicians' Unit ii) ABAA Actors' Unit iii) ABAA Dancers' Unit of ABAA are coordinated by the Unit Chief Coordinators. Any subjects to the terms of ABAA's constitution may become a member of the association on payment of minimum subscription as entrance fee decided by CEC from time to time.

With regard to information exchange and lobbying; ABAA has brought Bhutanese artists under the common platform. One way or the other, it has maintained the close working relation with the entire Bhutanese social, human rights and political organizations. It is affiliated with the Federation of Bhutanese Trade Unions (FOBTU) which is the only federation of the Bhutanese trade unions representing the nation. From 21st of September 2004, ABAA has been affiliated with International Federation of Actors (FIA) whose Secretariat is situated in London. FIA covers the artists unions of 75 countries across the world

Bhutan Music Academy - BMA( 8th December 2003) is initiated by ABAA .Here, required faculties of arts have been introducing. It has been launching stage performances oftenly.Legal counsel is provided by the Lawyers Association of Bhutan (LAB) and a renown Nepalese Advocate Mr. Kamal Prd. Dahal.World famous Nepali film maker Mr.Tulsi Ghimerey, Sir. Amar Gurung and Mrs. Mira Rana - Radio Nepal are ABAA's Advisors.

ABAA holds the Congress every year. The Congress reviews the activity, planes for the future activities and prepare expected budget.The supreme authority of ABAA - The General Congress which meets once in four years which leads the election of Office Bearers and other Executive Members.ABAA is funded by its own members and runs with the members' full participations and representation in all areas of policy-making and activity.

Lastly, ABAA welcomes the world communities and individuals for all sorts of constructive suggestions and healthy comments. Moral, material, and other necessary helps will be continued to expect from our well-wishers
