Daniel Bissell sold to James R. Bissel for one dollar ($1). “said slaves were purchased by Daniel Bissell at public sale by Clement March at the house of Andrew Bus[r/s]t in the town of Potosi on Oct. 1, 1829.” Document gives Daniel Bissell’s daughter, Mary Price, the use of the slaves, “separate and apart” from her husband, Risdon H. Price. James R. Bissell agrees that he will permit Mary G. Price “to have use and enjoy the said slaves their services and the proceeds of their labor hereby declaring that he is invested with the legal title to the same slaves merely as trustee for the purposes and in the manner herein set forth.”
