White on green Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 1)

First issued in 1968, with numbers starting at 100.  

White on green Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 2)

In about 1980 (around serial number 5000) the white border was removed.

 Green on white Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 1)

Along with the color change, the serial format changed to A000 and a sticker box (never used) was added.

Green on white Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 2)

Later examples have 2 sticker boxes (again, never used) and a dash in the serial (A-000 fomat).

Blue on white Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 1)

The color scheme changed for this issue.

Blue on white Historic Motor Vehicle (Type 2)

This variation uses different dies.

USAGE

A Historic Motor Vehicle plate can be obtained for a vehicle that is at least 25 years old and used primarily for exhibition in shows, parades, tours and other special uses, but not for general transportation.  The plate is permanently issued to the vehicle.
