Squeak
NAME: Squeak
BORN: December 10, 2003
ADOPTED: December 10, 2004
BREED: Short-haired
GENDER: Female

This is Squeak and she's the newest addition to this family of guinea pigs. She was recently adopted from a local humane society and was brought home to live with Snowflake. She's quite a skittish young piggie, but that's probably because she's just not used to the new environment yet. She loves spinach, apples, and carrots, and likes hopping over things. Squeak got her name because everywhere she goes, she makes these little squeaking sounds! She gets along quite nicely with Snowflake, even with the age difference.

Snowflake
NAME: Snowflake
BORN: May 21, 2000
ADOPTED: May 21, 2003
BREED: Albino
GENDER: Female

Meet Snowflake! She's a six-year-old Albino guinea pig. That means that she has pink/red eyes and white fur...she's pretty special! She's a very energetic and playful guinea pig. She's agile and loves to jump on top of boxes as a trick to earn herself some extra treats! We nicknamed her "Hudini Junior" since she can escape from almost anything! For instance, Snowflake surprised me when she got out of a 1.5 foot tall box without hurting herself! We also call her "Lean Mean Guinea Pig Machine" and "Lil Jumper" because she hops over things all the time instead of just wandering around them, like most guinea pigs her age would do! When she was first adopoted, Brownie and Snowflake fought all the time, so a chicken wire seperator was put in the middle of the cage. After about a month and a half though, she amazingly pulled the wire up, and slipped under it. Snowflake remains the dominant guinea pig.

Chestnut
NAME: Chestnut
??,??,?? - May 10, 2005
BREED: Short-haired
GENDER: Male

Meet Chestnut, the only male guinea pig I have for the time being, and he lives in a cage separate from Squeak and Snowflake. He's a sandy colored, short-haired guinea pig. I think that he's a little over three years old. He's an energetic guinea pig, like Snowflake and Squeak. He likes to be taken out and petted, but one of his favorite things is to run around in the living room and explore...underneath and behind couches, into the kitchen, into the bathroom ...everywhere that's hard to get him out of! His favorite foods are lettuce (not Iceberg, because that is poisonous to guinea pigs) and apples. As you can tell, he also enjoy munching on grass.

Brownie
-
NAME: Brownie
October 1, 1999 - April 4, 2004
ADOPTED: September 1, 2000
BREED: Abyssinian
GENDER: Female

This is Brownie. She's a sandy colored, Abyssinian guinea pig. She was a pretty lazy guinea pig, because she mostly just ate and slept! Speaking of eating, her favorite foods are apples and carrots, not to mention grass. Going outside is fun since grass is everywhere, although it can be partially dangerous for her since there are birds and cats. (When you take a guinea pig outside, ALWAYS either have it in a secure cage with a roof, or sit beside it to keep it company and safe from any predators such as cats, dogs, birds, etc. Also, guinea pigs may be frightened by the noise of cars going by, so make sure that they don't scamper away!)
****RIP Brownie! You never did do much except eat & sleep, but you were always a great pal to have around! I'm sure that Snowflake misses you as a companion, just as the rest of us do! You could always put a smile on anyone's face, and you learned to cope with all of the other guinea pigs, even though they had come into your life so suddenly, and into your territory. We all miss you so much, but now you are in a better place, over Rainbow Bridge, where you are definitely fit to be!
**** (Euthanized on April 4, 2004)

Chocolate
-
NAME: Chocolate
April 14, 2000 - July 9, 2003
ADOPTED: October 14, 2000
BREED: Short-haired, white-crested
GENDER: Female

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, is Chocolate. She was a white-crested (because of the white crest on her forehead), short-haired guinea pig. She loved to jump and play with her buddy, Brownie. Brownie used to get annoyed with Chocolate sometimes...but they still had lots of fun, especially when they were eating outside! Snowflake was her play buddy. Chocolate's favorite foods were grass, apples, and carrots. Like Chestnut, she was a very energetic guinea pig! She liked to jump on top of the boxes in her pen and to hide her food up there where Brownie couldn't get it!
****RIP Chocolate! You were the kindest and most gentle guinea pig that I have had so far! You would never fight with anyone and wouldn't even fight back if the others stole your treats! I'm sorry that you did not get to say goodbye to your best gp pal, Brownie before dying. We all miss you dearly, but rest peacefully in 'Guinea Pig Heaven' where all good gps go...
**** (Died of kidney failure on July 9, 2003)
