~Do each food at the same time each day - 
     take note of the time on the first day
~Do experiment with ONE guinea pig at a time

1. Gather a stopwatch and 1/2 ounce of apple
2. Put 1/2 ounce of apple into cage and have stopwatch ready
3. As soon as the guinea pig starts to eat, start the stopwatch
4. When the guinea pig is done eating the food, or if they don't like it, stop the watch
5. Record the time it took for the guinea pig to eat the whole food
6. Repeat steps 1-6 again for each guinea pig
7. Wait one day
8. The next day, at the same time as the 1st day, give the guinea pigs 1/2 ounce of another food
9. Repeat steps 1-9 for each food

• 3 guinea pigs
• stopwatch
• 1/2 ounce apple
• 1/2 ounce banana
• 1/2 ounce pear
• 1/2 ounce cucumber
• 1/2 ounce carrots
• 1/2 ounce green pepper

• Independent Variable: variety of food
• Dependent Variable: Time it takes for the guinea pig to eat the food
• Controlled Variables: *Number of guinea pigs AND *Amount of each food
