NOTE: Just a few words of caution - the above method is only valid if the orbital ellipse is sufficiently widely presented to the observer (as is the case with 70 Ophiuchi), where the two stars are near equi-distant from Earth. In all other cases, a full 3D analytical solution will be required which will take account of the binary system's orbit orientation in space relative to the observer.
