Repeater Coverage Map (RADIO-MOBILE Software)

           These are the ONLY 900MHz repeaters on Staten Island. They are located on the north and south shores of the island and provide very good mobile coverage into northern/central New Jersey, as well as within the 5 boroughs. The north transmitter has been heard as far away as Mount Pocono, PA and Bear Mountain Park in upstate NY. All are welcome to use the repeater as much as they please. There are no rules and there is no formal club, just enjoy the band. A PL tone of 100.0hz is needed to access the NORTH .4375 machine while a PL tone of 141.3hz is needed to access the SOUTH .7000 machine. You can program your radio to decode a PL tone of 88.5Hz for both repeaters. Interested in getting on 900?...Send me an email via the link at the bottom of the page and I'll try to help you out. These pictures are right after unpacking the machine and cleaning the few years worth of dust out of the cabinet:

The MSF5000 Digital Station Before Cleaning.          Entire Cabinet w/ Amplifiers & Power SUpllies Removed Before Cleaning           The dual power supplies that the repeater uses, after cleanup.          The twin amplifiers this repeater uses to produce around 150-180watts continuous duty @ 900MHz

This is the reassembly of the station after quite a bit of cleaning. All needed modifications have been done for functionality:

Being Reassembled. The twin power supplies are in.          Assembled repeater with the PAs installed infront of the power supplies.           Repeater with the door on & cabinet completed.

Over field day weekend (2007), I got extremly motivated. The station was programmed, aligned, tuned, duplexed, and a bunch of other fancy terms that sound really professional/technical. It is now on the air into a dummy load (not me) as of June 26,2007. Coverage is about a block which is not half bad for no actual antenna.

Here are the test results/specs of the station:

Receiver/Transmitter: Motorola MSF5000
Receiver Sensitivity (12db Sinad): .200uV -> .230uV through duplexer
Transmitter Output (watts): 115 -> 96 out of duplexer

CW ID: KC2GOW/R
CW ID Tone Frequency: 800hz
CW ID Speed: 21wpm
CW ID Interval: 10mins
Repeater Hangtime: 3secs
