Need to file or respond to a dissolution (divorce) but can't afford an attorney's high retainer? Don't trust a legal document center which does not employ an attorney? You need the $900 Divorce!
For a flat fee of $900, a licensed attorney will assist you in preparing and filing your dissolution papers, will answer your questions regarding the process of divorce, and will prepare a calculation on spousal and child support. You will represent yourself in court, avoiding the high fees lawyers charge for hearings. If you wish, you can also take advantage of our flat fee services for preparation of motions and responses.
Mediation between parties is also available.
This is a service of the Law Office of M.C. Bruce, 3135 Boeing Ave, Suite A7, McKinleyville, CA 95519

The California State Bar has approved of "limited representation" by attorneys to persons in dissolution actions. "Limited Representation" means that the lawyer will help you with the papers and answer questions you have concerning the law. You and the lawyer agree that he will not represent you in court or make other appearances. This saves you, the legal consumer, thousands of dollars.
In order to protect you, the State Bar requires the lawyer to sign a contract with you which outlines exactly what the lawyer will do for you. The contract also outlines what the lawyer is not being hired to do. As a result, instead of paying a retainer fee of $3000 or more just to get the divorce started, you pay a flat fee of $900. If you wish to have the attorney work on further matters in the divorce--such as a custody battle after the papers are filed or a motion to modify support--this can be agreed upon for a separate fee.
