Previously On Gilmore Girls:
Everyone is sitting outside drinking hot chocolate, Lane and Paris are quietly talking. Zach is talking to Jess, Jess is ignoring him, and watching Rory. Rory is watching Logan.
Lane: well Rory, I would have to say that your game idea, was a bust.
Rory: I couldn’t agree more.
Paris walks over to Doyle, they kiss. Lane smiles and walks over to Zach they kiss. Rory looks at Logan, then at her feet. Jess starts to walk over to her, but Logan goes over to Rory before he gets there.
Logan: hey.
Rory: hey.
Logan: I think we need to talk about some things, some things that we should have talked about before we took off like we did.
Rory shakes her head in agreement.
Logan: I don’t really thin……
Jess walks over.
Jess: Rory Gilmore, I love you!

Jess: Rory Gilmore, I love you!
Everyone looked around in shock. No one said anything. Rory had no idea what to say. Jess started to walk away. Rory secretly wanted to say that maybe she loved him too. But she just couldn’t. Jess walked to his car, got in it and drove off. Tristan and Dean both looked like they had just seen Rory for the first time. Rory had no idea what to say to everyone. Everyone just stood in silence for a couple of minutes. Lane was the first one to break the silence.
Lane: great party Rory.
Zach: yeah you did good.
Lane: but we better be going, cause you know well the twins.
Rory: oh yeah of course. Thanks for coming.
Lane: no problem.
Lane and Zach left.
Paris: well I think that I’m going to go ahead and spend the night with Doyle, if that is okay.
Rory: oh yeah, sure that is fine.
Paris walks over to Rory.
Paris: everything will be fine.
Rory: sure, when pigs fly.
Paris: well, in that case nothing will be fine.
Rory and Paris hug. Paris and Doyle leave. Rory and Logan watch. They stand their in silence. No one says anything. Rory looks at Logan.
Dean: well I guess I better be going too.
Tristan: I’m going to go for a walk.
Dean: by Rory.
Rory and Logan watch the boys leave.
Rory: do you want to talk about what we need to talk about?
Logan: well there’s no better time than the present.
Rory: okay.
Rory and Logan walk over to the porch swing. Rory sits down followed by Logan.
Rory: do you want to go first?
Logan: why don’t you?
Rory: well, I think it might have been a little foolish, I don’t think I’ve ever used that word, anyways I think it might have been a little foolish of us, to just pick up right where we left off, I mean we have had a 3 month period of no one, well at least I did, but we still have stuff to talk about, like a whole bunch of stuff.
Logan: I couldn’t agree more, I actually have a few questions, if you don’t mind me asking.
Rory: no go ahead.
Logan: why did you really untruly not say “yes” to my proposal?
Rory: I thought we already discussed this, I wasn’t ready, I didn’t want my whole life planned out, I mean yeah 5 years ago, that would have been great, I already had my life planned out, I was going to go Harvard I was going to get a good education, I wasn’t going to let boys stand in the way of my dreams, but only one of those stayed the same, well two I did get a good education at Yale. And when I went to Yale, that was not planned, and when I met you, that was not planned, and when I did all that stuff with you, that was not planned either, that was living by the moment. And I thought you we’re all about that, but then when you proposed, you had everything planned, we would live here, I would work there, we would have kids, and all this stuff, and it scared me, cause I use to be like that, until I met you, and I started to live by the moment. And you know I’m really missing that old Logan. I mean yeah you didn’t plan on working with your dad, and you didn’t plan on kissing me like that, or coming to see me like that either, but you had it planned in your head.
Logan: Rory, I never wanted to push you into something that you thought was planned out, I just thought that if I could show you that I knew how everything would work out, and that you didn’t have to be scared, but you we’re anyways.
Rory: and Logan, I’m really sorry about that.
Logan: I know.
Rory: well?
Logan: I’m willing to forgive and forget if you are?
Rory: Logan, I was ready to, but our past stood in in our way.
Logan: I know that.
Rory grabs Logan’s hand. Logan looks at Rory.
Rory: are you ready?
Logan: for what?
Rory: to start fresh, wipe all the old stuff off the plate?
Logan: you jump I jump jack.
Rory smiles. They kiss.
Logan: but I kind of think we need to talk about that Jess situation that just occurred.
Rory sighs.
Logan: all I really need to know is, do you love him.
Rory sits there for a minute.
Logan: it’s a yes or no answer.
Rory: I know it is, and that’s the problem.
Logan: what’s the problem?
Rory: I’ve known Jess for 5 years, and we are great friends.
Logan: but?
Rory: but we dated, and I loved him then, and I’ve always loved him.
Logan: okay, well then I guess the real question is, do you love him more than me?
Rory: Logan…….
Logan: what Rory?
Rory: that’s a dumb question.
Logan: it’s not that dumb of a question when this guy you’ve known for 5 years, that you love, tells you that he loves you.
Rory: okay, Logan what do you want from me? I mean I told you that I was willing to forgive and forget our past, which in terms would mean Jess. But I guess I lied, cause I can’t forget Jess, Jess was, and still is a big part in my life. I love Jess, to death, we obviously have covered that, but I love you too. And if the love I have for you isn’t good enough, then I’m not good enough.
Logan stands there.
Rory: so my love isn’t good enough?
Logan: No Rory! That’s not it at all. I just if I can’t have all of you then I really don’t want you.
Rory: what?
Logan: if you love me and Jess the same way, then you could go to him in the switch of a light.
Rory: see but that’s it Logan, I love you differently than I love Jess. I love Jess, because he helped me open my eyes up to new stuff, he’s been there for some of my major life changing events, he wrote a book because of me. I could not, not love Jess. I mean think about……. think about some girl you we’re SORTA serious with……..you still like her don’t you.
Logan: well yeah, I guess.
Rory: see, that’s the way it is with Jess, it’s not that I don’t love you. It’s that I love you differently, I love you like my boyfriend, and I love Jess like my best friend.
Logan: I see where you are coming from.
Rory: then, like I’ve said FORGIVE AND FORGET
Logan: I really just, I mean you have Dean, and Tristan.
Rory: okay I liked Tristan like 7 years ago, and I don’t really know if I liked him or if I just wanted to kiss him, I do know that he did, does like me, but I don’t like him like that, or Dean.
Logan sighs.
Rory: so Forgive and Forget?
Logan: are those like your new words?
Rory: maybe.
Logan and Rory kiss. Logan looks at his watch.
Logan: well Merry Christmas Ace.
Rory: Merry Christmas to you too Huntzberger.
Logan and Rory kiss again. It starts to snow.
Logan: it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Rory smiles.
Rory: now I know why I love you.
Logan: and that would be.
Rory: cause you can always make me smile.
Logan: but have I made you frown?
Rory: hmm…… I don’t think so.
Rory wanted to tell him about the nights she had laid on the bathroom floor wishing he was there, but she just ignored it.

Luke and Lorelai are eating pie.
Lorelai: this pie is yum!
Luke: this pie is yum??
Lorelai: yes I said it “yum.”
Luke: okay? So how is Sookie doing?
Lorelai: well pretty much as soon as she got back, they had to go to Jackson’s mothers house, and she was dreading that.
Luke: and what about Michel?
Lorelai: just annoying as usual.
Luke: oh I see.
Lorelai: yes, but how is……….
Jess comes in. Look at Lorelai, then at Luke.
Jess: your daughter, has lost her mind.
Jess goes upstairs. Luke and Lorelai look at each other.
Lorelai: my daughter?
Luke: no mine.
Lorelai: really?
Luke: no yours, he hasn’t seen April in 2 years.
Lorelai: oh.
Luke: what did you have to drink at that party?
Lorelai: well you know.
Luke: oh I’m sure.
Lorelai: I wonder what happened.
Luke: I’ll go find out.
Lorelai: wait do you mind if I go?
Luke: no not at all be my guest.
Lorelai: thanks.
Lorelai gets up and goes and kisses Luke.
Lorelai: I should be back in 5 minutes 10 minutes tops, but if I’m not back in 15 minutes, he has murdered me with his hair gel, and you’ll need to come and find me.
Luke: okay, I’ll keep an eye on the clock.
Lorelai walks upstairs. He knock on Jess’s door.
Jess: come in.
Lorelai walks in.
Lorelai: whoa, this place is actually clean?
Jess: surprising?
Lorelai: just a little bit, I did not think of you as the clean type.
Jess: well I didn’t think you would talk to after 5 years ago, but hey here we are.
Lorelai: you know your pretty funny I should have paid attention to some of the stuff you said.
Jess: so is there something I can help you with, or did you just come up to see how clean my apartment was?
Lorelai: oh you said my daughter had lost her mind?
Jess: oh god, you want to know about that?
Lorelai: yes.
Jess: well I told her that I loved her, and she still chose that loser prep.
Lorelai: oh wow, interesting.
Jess: not really, but I guess from your perspective. And I would leave and not have to see her with him again, but I don’t have the money or a place to go, so I’m stuck here watching them together.
Lorelai: see, that’s where you lost Rory in the first place, is when you left.
Jess: but I didn’t have a choice.
Lorelai: I’m sorry Jess, but you did, you could have just repeated the grade, it would not have been that bad.
Jess: but it would have been.
Lorelai: I understand that, but that’s when you lost her.
Jess: but I mean I didn’t even think we we’re still going out, when I left.
Lorelai: but you we’re, and then you just left, well you left 3 times, and it hurt her every time.
Jess: I know that, and I’m really sorry about all of it, and I probably should have said I loved her, cause I know that as long as she is with prep, I don’t stand a chance.
Lorelai: don’t say that, Jess, Rory will always love you, you could have you arms burnt off, and be bald, and Rory would sill love you.
Jess: but I don’t think I would love me,
Lorelai: I don’t know,
Lorelai and Jess laugh.
Lorelai: just give it time, and you won’t have to worry about being bald with no arms.
Jess: okay.
Lorelai gets up to leave.
Jess: hey Lorelai?
Lorelai: yeah?
Jess: I can see why you and Rory are best friends.
Lorelai smiles.
Lorelai: and I can see why she loves you.
Lorelai leaves. She goes downstairs.
Luke: oh you just cut it by 1 minutes, I was starting to get worried.
Lorelai smiled.
Luke: is everything okay?
Lorelai: it’ll take a few days for things to get back to normal.
Luke: well isn’t that just normal for Stars Hollow?
Lorelai: yeah.
Luke: you ready to go home?
Lorelai: yeah.
Luke: alright well I’m going to go tell Jess to lock up behind me, and only open for me, or I guess you and Rory too.
Lorelai: okay.
Lorelai goes out to the car. Luke goes upstairs. He knocks on Jess’s door.
Jess: come in.
Luke walks in.
Luke: holly cow, this place, it is so clean.
Jess: what is up with everyone commenting on how clean my apartment is?
Luke: well you just don’t look like a clean person.
Jess: I don’t?
Luke: no, anyways I’m going to go home, can you lock up after me, and only open the doors to me, Lorelai, and Rory, everyone else will have to wait until after Christmas.
Jess: k.
Luke: are you okay?
Jess: well, I’ll survive.
Luke: well I guess so then. Merry Christmas.
Luke leaves.

A FEW HOURS LATER

Rory is sitting outside wrapped in a blanket, she just starring out onto the road. Lorelai comes out from inside.
Lorelai: holy cow it’s cold.
Rory looks over at her. Lorelai comes and sits beside her and grabs some of her blanket.
Lorelai: no mommy always taught you never to be stingy when sharing blankets.
Rory giggled.
Lorelai: so how you holding up kid?
Rory: well I’m barely breathing with a broken heart that’s still beating.
Lorelai: what?
Rory: I read it in a book……
Lorelai: well don’t use that fancy word stuff on me, I don’t understand it.
Rory: that’s not that hard to understand.
Lorelai: well then it is to me.
Rory sighs.
Lorelai: what are you thinking?
Rory: well right now my heart is saying Jess, but my brain is saying Logan.
Lorelai: well you called the right person for this, I’ve been in this same situation.
Rory: well?
Lorelai: well Logan has broken your heart how many times?
Rory: well 2 times definitely, but I don’t know if crying on the bathroom floor counts.
Lorelai: no, that just means you like the bathroom floor to cry.
Rory: okay then 2.
Lorelai: and what are those 2?
Rory: when he cheated on me, and when I said no to his proposal, it hurt me too.
Lorelai: okay, now how many times has Jess broke your heart?
Rory: well 3 times.
Lorelai: and those would be.
Rory: well he left while we we’re going out, he left after he said he loved me, and when he left like 6 years ago, I’m not really sure why anymore.
Lorelai: well your brain is saying Logan cause he is the safer catch, but your heart is saying Jess cause you love him.
Rory: but I love Logan too.
Lorelai: well hun I’m not really sure what to tell you, I just figured out why your brain is saying Logan, but you got to figure out why your heart is saying Jess, and who you want to be with, cause you can’t keep dragging all these boys along.
Rory: I know.
Lorelai kisses the top of Rory’s head.
Lorelai: well I’m going to go to bed, and put my cold feel on Luke’s warm legs.
Rory: have fun with that.
Lorelai walks inside.
Rory sat staring at the snow, but she had no idea who to choose who to pick why her heart felt the way it did. She loved Logan, and she knew she did, but she loved Jess too. She thought about it all the rest of the night, and into the early morning. She finally dosed off. When she woke up the sun was just starting to rise. She looked at her feet, and saw she was laying on the porch swing. She swayed a little bit until she heard a car coming towards the house. She put her hands over her eyes to see the car. It looked old. She wondered about it. It stopped, and Jess got out, he came over to her and kissed her, she couldn’t believe it, she was stunned. Then Jess turned around and got back into his car. She stood there broken hearted. Logan came from downstairs and outside he was on the phone, she wondered who he was on the phone with. He didn’t even look at Rory he kept looking at the cars, like Rory wasn’t even there. Then he said the words I love you too baby, I know I just got to open presents, and I’ll be seeing you there. I know I love you. Okay bye honey. Rory stood there how could that be. She got up and started to yell at him, but he didn’t even look at her. Then suddenly Rory rolled off the porch swing with a loud bang. She looked around. She couldn’t believe it, it was just a dream. It had seemed to so real how was that possible. She laid back down on the porch swing the sun was starting to rise she watched. The birds started to chirp. Babette came out and waved and pull Apricot out. She knew who she had to choose she got up and……………..
