CALLING ALL CUB PARENTS

Updated Sept 16, 2007

To join the Pack there is a National Reg Fee is $135. per year.  Cubs will continue to be held on Thursday nights from 630-8 at Maple Ridge Public School located near Liverpool and Finch.

A Year Plan has been completed.   Dues this year will be $40 per half year payable in September and again in Jan. The Pack has some open spaces as several Cubs will be moving onto Scouts. If you have a friend, please bring him/her out to check us out.

This year the Pack will be wearing a full uniform to regular meetings. This includes the Scout Shirt, Sash and Navy Blue Long pants.  To keep costs down a quantity of blue pants in assorted sizes have been purchased at $5 each OR you can purchase the Scout Official pants at the Scout Shop - cost is $34.99 (they are nice pants though).  Please ensure your son or daughter has a Cub Book and brings it to all meetings

An activity uniform will be supplied to all returning Cubs. Cubs can wear this T-shirt to certain events such as camps, etc.

The Pack is fortunate to have an excellent leadership team.  Any parents interested in serving as a Leader or Committee member or Parent helper are encouraged to let us know.  All members of Scouting must undergo a screening process that includes a Police Record Check, Vulunerible Sectors Check, interview and reference checks and agree to attend training.  Parents interested in helping on sparodic occassions such as outings and camps need to supply the Pack with an up to date police record check and Vul Sector Check prior to doing so.  For more information on these national policies, vist www.scouts.ca.

Lastly, its important that you know that NO youth should be denied participation in Scouting due to financial restraints.  Please speak to us so we can discreetly work something out to prevent this.

Our star work this year will be Green (sept - Dec) and Black (Jan - May).  We encourage Cubs to work on badges at home and they can be tested at Cubs. Just send a signed letter acknowledging what requirements were completed at home. Here is a list of stars and badges than can also be found in your Cub Book.
