I found this article I thought was interesting about Tyler Hoechlin. Its about his new baseball team. I was at the College World Series (this was like June 15) and I went to the Arizona State/ASU (Tyler's old team) v.s UC Irvine (Tyler's new team). Sadly he was not playing on either team at the time so I did not see him, but I thought it was a little ironic. (by the way his new team UC irvine one that game)

Tyler Hoechlin's only been here a week and his teammates are already rummaging through his cell phone, looking for numbers of celebrities they recognize.
Or better yet, pretty girls they've only seen on television or in movies. Flip to the letter ''A'' and Ashlee Simpson appears. Scroll down to ''H'' and '"No way!'' there's Haylie Duff.
Hoechlin, the newest member of the Battle Creek Bombers, doesn't fancy himself as a Hollywood club-scene guy. Simpson and Duff are just friends, no big deal to the actor/baseball player.
"I have friends who are in the business but I live an hour from L.A. and I play baseball and have my baseball buddies," said Hoechlin, a Corona, Calif., native.
"I'm usually low key. I'm not out at the club. Not in there running around and getting crazy."
The 19-year-old Hoechlin got his acting break playing Tom Hanks' son Michael Sullivan Jr. in the 2002 film ''Road to Perdition.'' The movie won an Oscar for best cinematography and Hoechlin's character played a vital role as he and Michael Sullivan (Hanks) spend the movie trying to outrun 1930s Irish mobsters.
Hoechlin also played the role of Martin Brewer in four seasons of the hit television show ''7th Heaven.''
But Hoechlin (pronounced Heck-lin) is in Battle Creek to play baseball. After not seeing much action this spring as a freshman at Arizona State, he's transferring to California-Irvine.
The Anteaters are coming off their first-ever College World Series appearance and Hoechlin hopes he'll be penciled in the lineup next season, possibly at third base.
Make no mistake, the actor can play ball.
"You don't get where he's gotten, Arizona State and up here, without being a heckuva good player," Bombers manager Brian Murphy said.
For the time being, Hoechlin is putting his acting career on hold.
"Right now, baseball is definitely my first priority," Hoechlin said. "Once baseball is over, acting is definitely something I'm going to go back to. I've talked to my agent about that. Baseball is something I have to do now, it's where my heart is, it's what I want to do. Once they kick me off the field and out of the dugout, I'll move back to L.A. and pursue acting full-time."
Hoechlin is a speedy infielder who can play second base, third base and shortstop. A left-handed hitter, he made an impression in his first game as a Bomber last week when he laid down a beautiful bunt and beat the throw to first with a head-first slide.
While Hoechlin wants to concentrate on baseball, he can't escape the acting tag. During a recent interview, one of Hoechlin's teammates walked by and jokingly starting singing ''7th Heaven.''
Hoechlin laughs it off and keeps talking. After all, he's the one who knows Ashlee Simpson, not his teammates.
"We've obviously gotten to asking what girls he knows and how close he is to them," said Bombers infielder Matt Hacker.
"I have not looked through his cell phone ... but I'd love to."
In high school, Hoechlin took independent study classes in cooperation with regular classes in order to complete school. He starred on the field for Santiago High School and also made time for acting.
"It was a lot of driving and keeping busy but I always said I'd rather be busy than bored," he said. "I don't mind being tired. I don't mind being go, go, go. I'd rather do that than sit on the couch all day."
Hoechlin caught a big break when he landed the role in ''Road to Perdition,'' a movie with a star-studded cast of Hanks, Paul Newman and Jude Law. Hoechlin's younger brother was on a billboard for Guess Kids on Santa Monica Blvd. Perdition's casting director was driving by when he saw the billboard and tracked down Hoechlin's brother.
That led to an interview for Tyler and a few months later, the chance of a lifetime. He says Hanks and Newman were very friendly and that the movie was shot at about 60 different locations, including Chicago and western Michigan.
Hoechlin got to attend a Cubs game with Hanks and his family and the two still exchange birthday and holiday cards.
"They're busy guys so I don't like to bug them," he said of Hanks and Newman.
While he's on the Bombers, Hoechlin is living with St. Philip volleyball coach Vicky Groat and her husband Mike in Marshall. The couple's 10-year-old son Blake is really getting a kick out of it and Vicky Groat said Hoechlin acts like a normal, nice kid around the house.
"He's here to play baseball and do a job," Groat said. "There are no cameras involved except mine."
Hoechlin is excited about his opportunity to play in the Northwoods League and get better before joining Cal-Irvine next year. In the meantime, he'd better hide his cell phone.
