Federal Judge Orin Travis sent Marshals and Texas Rangers in droves to look for the seven men. They narrowed the search to the area where they were last seen. Travis purchased the area and the abandoned mansion as a tribute to the men who helped rid the west of crime. Some say Orin actually saw the seven on occasion.
