The Satellites were first established in 1959 at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida by Jim McGuirt.  The band recorded a 45RPM record called "Moody" in 1960 which received a 4 star rating in Billboard Magazine as the best recording that month.  It received airplay on all the radio stations in the Tampa Bay area.  The band has reformed several times throughout the years and now includes three former members.  The Satellites perform all the oldies and hits we grew up with.  We hope you will enjoy this site and possibly bring back some great memories.
