Here at 5 Acre Farm, we do our very best to care for our animals. We feel it necessary to state our policy regarding returns and necessary follow up care so that there are no misunderstandings. We reserve the right to retain any animal in our herd, whether or not a deposit has been placed on him/her. In that case, you can pick another animal of your choice. In the event that any animal sold by us (locally) should need follow up veterinary care within a reasonable amount of time after the sale (usually 30 days), we require that the animal be returned to us so that we may oversee that care. Any medical treatment provided without our explicit consent will not be reimbursed, except in extreme emergencies. Reimbursement will never exceed the initial price paid for the animal. There can be no exceptions. Any animal that needs veterinary care that is not local to us, should be brought to a licensed veterinarian for care, and a phone call should be made to us to inform us as to the nature of the emergency. We would appreciate speaking to the vet before we approve any expenditures for care. Our phone # is 508/839-9194.
We're glad to ship a goat at the buyer's expense. There will be a $35 charge for a health certificate. Any tests or vaccines needed before shipping are also at the buyer's expense. We will be glad to purchase a crate for you to ship your animal in if you send us the money. They usually run $50-60 at our local WalMart. All 'pre-shipping' expenses must be paid in full before the animal can leave our farm.
An animal can be reserved with a $50 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable. However, if the animal of your choice is not born or available (i.e. we decide to retain him/her), the deposit can be used towards another animal. We will only hold an animal til the animal is old enough to be shipped (if he/she is being shipped), or until 12 weeks of age. There will be a $1/day boarding fee added past that time, which must be paid in full before the animal leaves our farm.
Thank you for understanding!
