5 Acre Farm

Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats, Chickens, Eggs

Buck Service Policy

Occassionally, we find that people would like to use one (or more) of our bucks to breed to one or more of their does.  We have an outstanding line-up of bucks, representing some of the best bloodlines in the Nigerian world.  We would like to accomodate those people in sharing these top genetics; however, because of bio-security issues, we can only offer 'drive-way' breedings.  (we jokingly call them hit and run service!).  The only exception to this rule is, if you bought your doe(s) from us, and they do not live with any other ruminant species, or ruminants from another farm.

However, any/all does to be bred to any of our bucks will require a recent NEGATIVE CAE test result (within 6-8 months).  The doe(s) will be visually (and sometimes physically) inspected by us before the buck is brought out.  Any suspicion on our part that the doe(s) may not be physically free from disease, will be refused service.  This includes any lumps, sores, cough, mucous discharge (except what would be expected from a doe in heat), obvious injury or malady, lethargy or malaise of an unknown origin, or known or suspected co-habitation or visitation with other ruminant species or infected animals.

While the above may seem a bit overboard, we try our best to protect our (and your) precious goats from transmittable diseases by taking these simple, yet sometimes, misunderstood precautions.  Please feel free to discuss any of these policies with us if you need more information or clarification.

If your doe does not meet our standards, or if you prefer, we have collected semen from our bucks, and would gladly sell you a straw or two to inseminate your doe(s) with.   Please check out our page on "AI".

Thank you!

Charlie & Cindy
