About Us

Hi, we're the St. Pierre's; Cindy, Charlie, & Kaitlin, of 5 Acre Farm in Grafton, Massachusetts, along with our friend Rebecca Wilson of Rebeka Acres. Kaitlin's husband Eric, and their beautiful daughters, Alyssa and Madeline, live here at the family farm too!  Many types of animals call 5 Acre Farm their home, but nationally, we are known for our Nigerian Dwarf goats. We also keep livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) to keep the herd safe.

We test annually for CAE,  and we test randomly for CL and Johnes . Our last test was done in October, 2006 and the herd is clean again, as usual (we didn't test in 2007 because of the house fire, but we're scheduled for tests in May, 2008).  We vaccinate twice yearly with Covexin 8, and have our vet administer a rabies vaccine to animals 6 months or older, every other year.  Babies are are disbudded early, and non-breeding bucks are sold for pets after they are band-wethered, at about 2 months of age.

We are members of AGS (American Goat Society), and ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association).  All of our animals are registered with AGS, and many of them are also registered with ADGA.  We are on DHI milk test thru AGS.

We show our goats at as many shows in New England as we can, usually 8-10 shows a year.  We also host a show at our farm every year, in August.  We believe that a Nigerian should be able to prove herself in the milk pail as well as the show ring.  After all, these are dairy animals.  We also believe that the proof of a good herd sire is in his daughters.  We don't usually sell bucklings because we want to make sure he's the best that can be.  We don't (won't) pass on inferior genetics thru a buck, and have only ever kept 2 for ourselves.   We believe that only the best of the best should remain as bucks.  Castrated males make excellent pets and land clearers.  There's a never ending demand for them!

We care for our goats as if they were our children.  After all, they're not called "kids" for nothing!!!

Come on in and take a look around!  We're glad you're here!
