55+ Writers' Circle


55+ Writers' Group

55+ Writers' Group is a congenial group of writers who are 55 years of age and older. We read, write, comment, and provide writer information while we also enjoy the company of writers. Writers of all genre and experience are welcome to join with us to listen, learn, laugh, and lament.

We meet monthly on the fourth Thursday to read and/or listen to members' works in progress. Gentle critique is optional. Join with us to share enthusiasm, encouragement, writing experiences, and laughter.

Where: We meet at the MCL Cafeteria, 5240 E. Main St. in Whitehall.

When: 2 to 4 PM, the fourth Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted.

Cost: No cost. Some members elect to have lunch together prior to the meeting. This is optional.

Meeting Format:

  • Short introduction of writing events, conferences, and markets in the central Ohio and general writing community.
  • Optional read-alouds from current or considered work by each person present.
  • Optional gentle critiques and suggestions from group attendees as requested by reader/writer.
  • If planning to read your work, please bring 6 copies.
