I'm sure that most of us have watched fireworks as children and thought how pretty they are, but sadly a lot of our dogs become distressed by the loud bangs and whistles they make.

My own girl Whoopie becomes a quivering wreck and has to be sedated each evening for approx a week before and a week after bonfire night all because of  her fear of fireworks.

There are less drastic remadies such as the DAP defuser a plug in device which gives of a scent which we as humans can not smell but these do help to relax out pets. These are available from your vet at a cost of approx £20 and refills costing around £15. The DAP does work but it does take about 6 weeks to really make any difference to your pet. There are also herbal remadies such as anxiety again available from vets at a cost of around £10. In my opinion both of these remadies are well worth the money.
