ROUND 1
1.Miami Dolphins – OT Jake Long, Michigan
Miami's tackles were nothing special, but LJ Shelton and Anthony Adabi were both cut. Miami got their signal caller of the future last year in John Beck, so now they will get him a dominant tackle to give him time to throw. Chris Long is a possibility, but the fact is, you need a great LT for your team to succeed, which is something they just don't have. Of course, Jake is now officially a Dolphin, so it doesn't matter.
Pick in Previous Mock: Jake Long
2.St. Louis Rams – DE Chris Long, Virginia
How lucky are the Rams? Miami picked Jake Long, which allows St. Louis to draft Chris Long, who has amazing intangibles and can play the hybrid position in a 3-4 or as a down lineman in the 4-3. Long had a great combine, cementing his spot at the top of draft boards. I know STL has bigger needs, but Long is too good to pass up.
Pick in Previous Mock: Chris Long
3.Atlanta Falcons – DT Sedrick Ellis, USC
In a previous mock, I had Atlanta selecting Darren McFadden. However, Atlanta signed Michael Turner in free agency and McFadden's character concerns have to make Atlanta shy away, given what happened to Michael Vick. Ellis is a huge run-stuffer who dominated at the Senior Bowl, and I am glad he improved on his numbers from the Combine at USC's Pro Day.
Pick in Previous Mock: Sedrick Ellis
4.Oakland Raiders – DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio St.
Gholston had a phenomenal Combine and an even better pro day, besting the 40 times of some receivers when he ran a 4.58. Even though Darren McFadden is still available, Al Davis will pass on him, since Gholston fills a need an has incredible numbers.
Pick in Previous Mock: Vernon Gholston
5.Kansas City – CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy
McKelvin made a name for himself during Senior Bowl practice, then cemented his status as the top cornerback with a solid Scouting Combine. Ty Law and Patrick Surtain are ancient and will retire soon, and McKelvin is better then both of them. McKelvin can also return kicks better then anyone they have right now.
Pick in Previous Mock: Leodis McKelvin
6.New York Jets – RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas
Darren McFadden ran a 4.33 at the Combine and blew away scouts. Even though the Jets have Thomas Jones, he will be 30 by the time the next season starts. I've said it before, but I'll say it again; the NFL is a copycat league. The Jets saw what Adrian Peterson did last year and Chester Taylor did last year, and they would love to repeat it.
Pick in Previous Mock: Darren McFadden
7.New England (from 49ers) – CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee St.
New England had been in a bind, but Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has seen his stock soar and is currently projected to be a top-10 pick. Cromartie can return kicks, but he also is a gifted corner. He plays with plenty of athleticism, but he hasn't shown me great ball skills.
Pick in Previous Mock: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
8.Baltimore – QB Matt Ryan, Boston College
Steve McNair just retired, and Kyle Boller is just plain horrible. I am not a big Matt Ryan fan, but I cannot see how Ryan could fall past Baltimore, who are desperate for a QB.
Pick in Previous Mock: Matt Ryan
9.Cincinnati – DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU
Glenn Dorsey has injury problems, but he also has immense upside. Cincinnati's current defensive lineman, however, cannot stop the run at all.
Pick in Previous Mock: Mike Jenkins
10.New Orleans – S Kenny Phillips, Miami FL
Can anybody disagree with me when I say New Orleans secondary is one of the worst in the NFL? Jason David is only good in Tampa 2 defenses, Mike McKenzie is old, and Fred Thomas and Jason Craft are backups at best. However, any cornerback would be a reach here, so the Saints go with the top safety on the board, Kenny Phillips, to provide an upgrade over Josh Bullocks. I know Kenny Phillips has seen his stock slip lately, but he is still filling a need and is underrated in my opinion.
Pick in Previous Mock: Kenny Phillips
11. Buffalo – DE Phillip Merling, Clemson
Phillip Merling has gone up draft boards, for reasons I do not understand. I don't think it is a good pick, I would rather have Derrick Harvey, but Merling looks to be higher then him right now. Buffalo needs a DE who can pass-rush or stop the run, and Merling does fit the mold.
Pick in Previous Mock: Phillip Merling
12. Denver – LB Keith Rivers, USC
Keith Rivers had a tremendous Pro Day and moved up draft boards even more. He should provide a large upgrade over Nate Webster, or DJ Williams if he moves outside.
Pick in Previous Mock: Ryan Clady
13.Carolina – OT Ryan Clady, Boise St.
Carolina re-signed Travelle Wharton to a monster contract for some odd reason. In addition, they were trying to trade a guy they said they would cut. How stupid are they? Hopefully, not stupid enough to avoid picking Ryan Clady, who is a bargain at 13. Clady should be a great offensive tackle, and Carolina needs an upgrade there.
Pick in Previous Mock: Glenn Dorsey
14.Chicago – OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt
I said Chicago needed a tackle in the prior write-up, so they'll take the best one available, Chris Williams. Williams had a great combine, and made himself a sure-fire first round pick.
Pick in Previous Mock: Chris Williams
15.Detroit – RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois
Rashard Mendenhall had a great combine and is being mocked by some people as a top-10 pick. I do not agree with that pick, as he only had one great year. Detroit has a real offense this year, and will therefore need a real running back, not Kevin Jones, who was, obviously, cut.
Pick in Previous Mock: Rashard Mendenhall
16.Arizona – CB Mike Jenkins, USF
Adrian Wilson is a top safety, but the rest of Arizona's secondary is nothing to write home about. Antrel Rolle was a bust at corner, so he is moving to safety to replace the mediocre Terrence Holt. This leaves a hole at corner, which Jenkins will fill.
Pick in Previous Mock: Aqib Talib
17.Kansas City – DE Derrick Harvey, Florida
Kansas City traded away Jared Allen to Minnesota, which fixes their problem at defensive end. Of course, Kansas City now needs a defensive end. Harvey is a great pass rusher who beat the #1 overall pick Jake Long several times in Florida's bowl game.
Pick in Previous Mock: Derrick Harvey (to Minnesota)
18.Houston – OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh
Jeff Otah is a huge addition (literally and figuretively) to the Houston offensive line that couldn't block my grandmother last year. Otah is tough as nails, and his pass blocking is incredible.
Pick in Previous Mock: James Hardy
19.Philadelphia - WR James Hardy, Indiana
Donavon McNabb wants more weapons, and James Hardy is a gigantic 6-7 receiver who can compliment Philadelphia's smaller receivers: Kevin Curtis and Reggie "What can Brown do for you?" Brown.
Pick in Previous Mock: Kentwan Balmer
20.Tampa Bay – QB Brian Brohm, Louisville
Brian Brohm is still available at #20, so Tampa will select their quarterback of the future. Jeff Garcia played very well this year, but he is very old and can't play forever. Do you think Bruce Gadkowski and Chris Simms are going to lead Tampa to the playoffs? Neither do I.
Pick in Previous Mock: Brian Brohm
21.Washington – WR Limas Sweed, Texas
Last year Antwaan Randle El and Santana Moss fell apart. Washington needs another receiver in case that happens again. Limas Sweed is a big physical receiver who ran a 4.46 at the combine and can compliment those smaller speedsters.
Pick in Previous Mock: Limas Sweed
22.Dallas (from Cleveland) – WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State
Terry Glenn is old and has injury problems. Meanwhile, Terrell Owens is 35 and could have injury problems at any time. Dallas obviously needs a receiver, and Devin Thomas had a great combine, getting him into the first round.
Pick in Previous Mock: Reggie Smith
23.Pittsburgh – OG/OT Bran
Jeff Otah was sluggish at the Combine, but he was battling a foot injury and looked to possess good agility during his college career. Also, to put the rumors to rest, BRANDON ALBERT WILL NOT BE A FIRST ROUND PICK!!! Guards do not go in the first round unless they are an elite guard prospect, which Albert is not.
Pick in Previous Mock: Limas Sweed
24.Tennessee – WR DeSean Jackson, California
I'm not sure if a single Tennessee wide receiver deserves to be on an NFL team. I know Tennessee used three draft picks on receivers last year, but the group is still horrid. They're even (dare I say it?) worse then my niners' wide receivers. DeSean Jackson had his draft stock drop at the combine, but he still is a great fit for Tennessee.
Pick in Previous Mock: Same
25.Seattle – RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon
If the NFL was a hot-dog eating contest, Shawn Alexander would be the favorite for his second MVP award. But it's not, so Alexander has to go. Johnathan Stewart had a solid combine, but I have dropped him a little because of a foot injury. His surgery means he may miss some of Training Camp as well as mini-camps, which could limit his impact in year one.
Pick in Previous Mock: Jonathan Stewart
26.Jacksonville – DT Pat Sims, Auburn
Jacksonville traded Marcus Stroud to Buffalo. Therefore, Jacksonville needs a replacement to team with John Henderson. Sims is raw but does have a lot of upside.
Pick in Previous Mock: Phillip Merling
27.San Diego – OT Carl Nicks, Nebraska
Shane Olivea was cut this offseason, which made no sense to me. In any case, they need a new right tackle, and Carl Nicks can fill the void at right tackle or slide over the left tackle.
Pick in Previous Mock: Pat Sims
28.San Francisco - DL Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina
Balmer slipped after his sub-par 40 time at the combine. However, the 49ers desperately need a new defensive end after Bryant Young retired, and Balmer fills the hole. Of course, a wide receiver like Early Doucet or Devin Thomas is needed, even after Bryant Johnson was signed by the niners.
Pick in Previous Mock: Early Doucet
29.Dallas – CB Aqib Talib, Kansas
Dallas certainly needs help at corner and safety, possessing a situation similar to Arizona. Remember, Terrance Newman is already 30 and Anthony Henry is really old and will probably switch to safety sooner rather then later. Therefore, Talib can replace Henry and solidify the Cowboys defensive backfield.
Pick in Previous Mock: Devin Thomas
30.Green Bay – CB Antonie Cason, Arizona
Antonie Cason is still available, lucky for Green Bay, so they will select him to become the heir apparent to Charles Woodson or Al Harris.
Pick in Previous Mock: Antoine Cason
31.New York Giants – DB Reggie Smith, Oklahoma
Smith has been falling into the second round in some of the mocks I have seen lately. However, Smith fills the Giants needs for a cornerback and a safety.
Pick in Previous Mock: Keith Rivers
ROUND 2
1.Miami – CB Tracy Porter, Indiana
Anytime mediocre quarterbacks like Sage Rosenfels (by the way, did you know he was named when his parents flipped to S instead of R in the dictionary?) are beating up on your secondary, you need help. Tracy Porter showed he could play physical at the Senior Bowl, and his stock is still rising. Miami could also pick a WR, OLB, DT, QB, the list goes on and on.
Pick in Previous Mock: Tracy Porter
2.St. Louis – DL Dre Moore, Maryland
Dre Moore has shot up draft boards after a great combine. Meanwhile, St. Louis desperately needs a pass rush, which Moore can deliver.
Pick in Previous Mock: Dre Moore
3.Atlanta – OT Sam Baker, USC
Atlanta uses a zone-blocking scheme, which Baker fits well into. Baker is a solid prospect who is an excellent pass blocker.
Pick in Previous Mock: Sam Baker
4.Kansas City – WR Early Doucet, LSU
Dwayne Bowe was a great pick last year, amassing close to 1,000 yards receiving. However, the rest of Kansas City's receivers are not starting-caliber. Doucet, who runs great routes and possesses soft hands, should instantly improve their receiving corps.
Pick in Previous Mock: Godser Cherilus
5.New York Jets – LB Dan Connor, Penn St.
Dan Connor didn't work out at the Combine, which may have been a good thing considering how the linebackers performed at the Combine. Connor would be a first round pick in most drafts, but the amount of talent in this draft makes him fall. The Jets traded away Johnathan Vilma, which leaves a gaping hole in the middle of their defense.
Pick in Previous Mock: Dan Connor
6.Atlanta – MLB Jerod Mayo, Tennessee
Keith Brooking has served Atlanta well, but he is 34 years old and needs a replacement soon. Mayo looked good during offseason workouts and has certainly improved his stock. I have seen him going as high as 15, so Atlanta should be glad they can get him here in the second round.
Pick in Previous Mock: Jerod Mayo
7.Baltimore – CB Terrell Thomas, USC
Samari Rolle and Chris McAllister are very old and fell apart last year. I think they will need to replace the two soon, and even if Rolle and McAllister improve their play again, Thomas can provide good depth.
Pick in Previous Mock: Terrell Thomas
8.San Francisco – OLB/DE Quentin Groves, Auburn
San Francisco had one of the worst pass rushes in the league last year. I think Groves lacks the recognition and instincts to succeed in the NFL, but I don't know if the 49ers are interested.
Pick in Previous Mock: Early Doucet
9.New Orleans – CB Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech
New Orleans' defense is obviously their weak spot. Randall Gay got way too much money, and Mike McKenzie is way too old. Flowers should instantly move into the starting lineup and greatly improve NO's pass defense. I know Flowers ran bad 40s, but he benefits from NO's dire need at CB.
Pick in Previous Mock: Brandon Flowers
10.Buffalo – TE Fred Davis, USC
Kevin Everett has recovered well from his injury, but he will never play football again. Buffalo needs a replacement, and Fred Davis is a gifted receiver in a tight end's body.
Pick in Previous Mock: Fred Davis
11.Denver – DT Trevor Laws, Notre Dame
Trevor Laws has gone up draft boards with good workouts, and he backed it up with good play at Notre Dame. Denver was horrible against the run last year, and Laws can greatly improve that aspect of their defense.
Pick in Previous Mock: Trevor Laws
12.Carolina – QB Andre Woodson, Kentucky
Many readers know I am a huge Andre Woodson fan. I think he is a top-20 prospect, although he will not go in the first round. Woodson is somewhat raw, which makes him a great fit for Carolina. Woodson can learn from Jake Dehlome for a year or two, then take over the reigns.
Pick in Previous Mock: Andre Woodson
13.Chicago – RB Jamaal Charles, Texas
Jamaal Charles had a great combine, and leapfrogged over Felix Jones in my RB rankings. Meanwhile, Cedric Benson is a monumental bust, and I think Chicago has given up on him (good move). Charles can run inside and outside
Pick in Previous Mock: Chris Johnson
14. Detroit – MLB Curtis Lofton, Oklahoma
Paris Lenon should not be starting in the NFL, and Detroit needs to get an upgrade. Lofton is a big upgrade over Lenon and should solidify the middle of Detroit's defense.
Pick in Previous Mock: Curtis Lofton
15.Cincinnati – OLB Erin Henderson, Maryland
Cincinnati's linebacker corps were so depleted last year that the Bengals had to sign guys off the street. Even when Cincinnati's linebackers were healthy, they didn't do well anyways. Henderson is an upgrade over their current linebackers, and he backed up my claims with a good combine.
Pick in Previous Mock: Erin Henderson
16.Minnesota – QB Joe Flacco, Deleware
Tavares Jackson is flat out horrible. For some reason, a lot of the Vikings fans I know actually support Jackson. In any case, they need a new QB, and Joe Flacco could be their answer. Flacco has a cannon for an arm and should mature into an NFL quarterback with a little time on the bench.
Pick in Previous Mock: Joe Flacco
17.Atlanta – QB Chad Henne, Michigan
If you haven't noticed, Atlanta has no competent quarterback on their roster. Chris Redman, who is penciled in as their starter, was selling insurance policies a year ago. Henne had a great Senior Bowl and rose up draft boards to the point where he will be a 2nd round pick.
Pick in Previous Mock: Chad Henne
18.Philadelphia – OT Godser Cherilus, Boston College
Winston Justice will have to face Osi Uminura twice a year when he becomes the full-time starter, and we all know what happened last time. Godser Cherilus had a poor combine, should be able to do a bit better then Justice (seriously, can you do any worse?)
Pick in Previous Mock: Anthony Collins
19.Arizona – RB Felix Jones, Arkansas
Edge is only 30, but he has a lot of miles on him and he may end up descending quickly like Eddie George. Felix Jones had a really bad Combine and sunk like a rock down draft boards, but he still has a lot of athletic ability.
Pick in Previous Mock: Felix Jones
20.Washington – DE Lawrence Jackson, USC
Lawrence Jackson should be an upgrade over 34 year-old Phillip Daniels. Washington's pass rush was horrible last year, and is a top priority. Jackson is a phenominal pass-rusher and can also hold up against the pass.
Pick in Previous Mock: Lawrence Jackson
21.Tampa Bay – WR Eddie Royal, Virginia
Eddie Royal has blazing speed and has shot up draft boards. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, is desperate for playmakers at reciever besides Joey Galloway, who will retire soon anyway.
Pick in Previous Mock: Eddie Royal
22.Pittsburgh – OT Anthony Collins, Kansas
If you didn't already see, I finally moved Brandon Albert into the first round. However, Pittsburgh still needs help along the offensive line, and Collins, a terrific pass blocker, can improve their offensive line.
Pick in Previous Mock: Branden Albert
23.Tennessee – WR Earl Bennett, Vanderbilt
Yes, I know that is two wide receivers in two rounds. However, the Tennessee receiving corps is one of the worst that has graced the NFL in years. Bennett and DeSean Jackson should be great weapons for Vince Young.
Pick in Previous Mock: Dustin Keller
24.Seattle – TE Dustin Keller, Purdue
Dustin Keller put up amazing numbers at the combine, which has scouts drooling. Ignoring all the hype, I have realized that he holds great potential, although he will need to develop over several years. Marcus Pollard sucks, so its no surprise he went the way of Jerremy Stevens.
Pick in Previous Mock: Lavelle Hawkins
25.Green Bay - RB Chris Johnson, East Carolina
Green Bay has few needs, so they can afford to take the best player available. Johnson did horribly on his interviews (to nobody's surprise), but his speed will compliment Ryan Grant's power well.
Pick in Previous Mock: Martellus Bennett
26.Miami (from San Diego) – NT Red Bryant, Texas A&M
The Dolphins need help up front, since they were in the bottom 5 against the run. Red Bryant is the top pure nose tackle on the board, so Miami has to be happy that he is still available.
Pick in Previous Mock: Red Bryant
27.Jacksonville – CB Charles Godfrey, Iowa
Rashean Mathis is a solid CB, but Brian Williams has been a bust free-agent signing. Godfrey, who had a great combine and followed it up with a stellar pro day, can team with Mathis to stop Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, and the rest of the AFC South's receivers.
Pick in Previous Mock: Charles Godfrey
28.Indianapolis – OG Chilo Rachel, USC
Indianapolis lost both of it's guards in free agency, so replacing them is a high priority. Rachel is very athletic, although his technique could use some polishing.
Pick in Previous Mock: Chilo Rachal
29.Green Bay – DE Chris Ellis, Virginia Tech
Some depth isn't a bad thing, and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila is getting up there in years. This may not be the DE named Chris from Virginia you have heard of, but he's still pretty damn good.
Pick in Previous Mock: Chris Ellis
30.Dallas – RB Ray Rice, Rutgers
Julius Jones is gone, so Jerry Jones seems hell-bent on acquiring another guy to team with Marion Barber, although I'm not sure why. In any case, Rice is great value at the bottom of the 2nd.
Pick in Previous Mock: Ray Rice
31.New England – OT Tony Hills, Texas
New England's front office has done well drafting offensive lineman as of late, so they should hope the trend continues and Tony Hills pans out. Hills has tons of talent, although injuries have hampered him.
32.New York Giants – SS Josh Barrett, Arizona
Josh Barrett is being mentioned as a first round pick in light of his combine, which makes him as overrated as Dustin Keller. Barrett was actually benched at Arizona, and his hip movement is not very good. However, he is good at blitzing and playing in the zone. Gibril Wilson went to Oakland and got way too much money, so the Giants will need a new strong safety to fill the void.
Round 3
1.Miami - OLB/DE Cliff Avril, Purdue
Avril served himself well this offseason, shooting up draft boards. It is obvious the Dolphins have an interest in acquiring a 3-4 DE/OLB hybrid, and Avril is great value at the top of the third round.
2.St. Louis - WR Jordy Nelson, Kansas State
Jordy Nelson is a big-bodied guy who interviewed very well and backed that up with good offseason workouts. Isaac Bruce was released and signed with my 49ers, and Drew Bennett is, at best, a #3 WR.
3.Kansas City - OT John Greco, Pittsburgh
John Greco has risen draft boards lately. He doesn't allow lineman to disengage and has great technique. Kansas City needs to upgrade their lineman, since they gave up 55 sacks last year.
4.Carolina - SS Tyrell Johnson, Arkansas State
Tyrell Johnson has shot up draft boards, going as high as New York in the first round. Mike Minter retired, which left a hole in Carolina's secondary that they haven't filled yet.
5.Atlanta - CB Terrence Wheatley, Colorado
Atlanta needs a cornerback to replace DeAngelo Hall, who was dealt to the Raiders. Wheatley has been a late riser, and he is known for his excellent recovery speed.
6.New England - CB Patrick Lee, Auburn
New England has no corner depth, so they will pick another corner in Round 3 to compliment DRC. Lee is a physical player who fits New England's system well.
7.Chicago - WR Andre Caldwell, Florida
Andre Caldwell has risen up boards tremendously, so the Bears are getting a bargain here. Caldwell has great speed and good hands, although his ability to go over the middle is suspect.
8.Jacksonville - WR Lavelle Hawkins, California
Lavelle Hawkins is someone who I feel is very underrated. I was reviewing tape of Cal's offense to see DeSean Jackson, and Lavelle Hawkins actually stood out to me more. He is a bit undersized, but he has good instincts and hands. Jacksonville has spent a lot of money on receivers, but they still could use another solid receiver.
9.Buffalo - WR Will Franklin, Missouri
Will Franklin has great speed, but he also is a physical receiver who will go up and get tough balls. The Bills need a physical receiver, so this is a match made in football heaven.
10.Kansas City - C Mike Pollak, Arizona State
Kansas City's offensive line was atrocious last year, and the center position was no exception. Mike Pollak is the top center in this year's class, and he is an excellent pass blocker.
11.Carolina - DT Marcus Harrison, Arkansas
Marcus Harrison has had legal problems, but Carolina needs to get a replacement for Kris Jenkins, who was dealt to the Jets. Harrison is a good run-stuffer, and he can get into the backfield on pass plays as well.
12.San Francisco - WR Mario Manningham, Michigan
I, like most other niner fans, would be screaming at our T.V.s if we drafted this jackass. However, we do need a receiver, and Manningham's speed makes him a good fit for our offense.
13.Detroit - OLB Tavares Gooden, Miami
Tavares Gooden had a good pro-day, getting him into the third round. Detroit has problems at outside backer, as Ernie Sims has no real companion at linebacker.
14.Cincinnati - FS DeJuan Morgan, North Carolina St.
Cincinnati lost Madieu Williams to Minnesota, so they can draft his replacement with this pick. Morgan had tremendous hype, but it has started to cool off lately. Still, he is good in zone coverage and has great closing speed.
15.New Orleans - OLB Marcus Howard, Georgia
Marcus Howard came out of nowhere at the combine to vault into the middle rounds with incredible numbers. He may be overhyped, but he certainly possess great pass-rushing skills.
16.Houston - CB Tyvon Branch, U Conn
Tyvon Branch, like Marcus Howard, has zoomed up draft boards in a hurry. Branch fills Houston's need for cornerback depth, and he could start in Daunte Robinson cannot play at the beginning of the season.
17.Philadelphia - SS Tom Zbikowski, Notre Dame
Some teams may have shyed away from Tom Zbikowski after his incident at the combine where he yelled at a coach. However, Zbikowski is a good strong safety, and Philadelphia does need an upgrade over Shawn Constadine.
18.Arizona - OT Duane Brown, Virginia Tech
Duane Brown has gone up draft boards due in part to his agility. Arizona has put a lot of money into their offensive line, but they still need an offensive tackle.
19.Kansas City - OG Roy Schuening, Oregon
Roy Schuening has lost some of his hype, but he is still a good guard. As I said earlier, Kansas City needs to upgrade everywhere along the offensive line, including guard.
20.Tampa Bay - CB Chevis Jackson, LSU
Chevis Jackson is a perfect fit for the Tampa-2, and therefore, Tampa Bay will reach for him. Brian Kelly was cut, although he sucks anyway, so they need a cornerback to replace him.
21.Washington - C Steve Justice, Wake Forrest
Steve Justice is a good upgrade at center for Washington, and he has excellent footwork.
22.Tennesee - TE Jacob Tamme, Kentucky
Ben Troupe sucks, and he signed with Tampa Bay anyway. Jacob Tamme runs great patterns and has great hands as well.
23.Seattle - WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma
Malcolm Kelly has fallen down draft boards after TWO bad pro days. Kelly still has a lot of talent, so Seattle may get a good value. Deion Branch has ACL problems, and Bobby Engrim is old, so Seattle needs a receiver.
24.Detroit - DT Atahya Rubin, Iowa State
Atahya Rubin is a nose tackle who can replace Shaun Rodgers in the middle of Detroit's defensive line. Rubin is very powerful and has a motor that keeps going.
25.Pittsburgh - WR Paul Hubbard, Wisconson
Paul Hubbard will fulfill Ben Roethlisberger's fetish with big receivers. Hubbard has good quickness and great hands, although he is bad at getting separation.
26.Jacksonville - DE Chris Harrington, Texas A&M
Chris Harrington has good strength and a motor that never stops. Jacksonville lacks depth at defensive end, so Harrington will fill that hole.
27.Chicago - WR Keenan Burton, Kentucky
Keenan Burton has a great vertical leap, and is very quick. Chicago has no receivers, since Bernard Berrien went to Chicago and Mushin Muhammad went back to Carolina.
28.Green Bay - WR Donnie Avery, Houston
Donnie Avery has great speed and good ball skills. Green Bay doesn't have that many needs, so they can go best player available.
29.Dallas - SS Craig Steltz, LSU
Craig Steltz is an upgrade over Roy Williams, who cannot pass protect at all. Steltz is good in man coverage and has good closing quickness.
30.Indianapolis - OLB Jordan Dizon, Colorado
This is too high for Jordan Dizon to go, but the Colts are very high on him. Dizon has a great motor and ranges all over the field. However, he needs to bulk up, since he very undersized.
31.New England - OG Drew Radovich, USC
Drew Radovich is an upgrade over Stephen Neil, who is 32 and has injury problems. Radovich has great size and is really tough.
32.New York Giants - CB Antwaun Molden, Western Kentucky
Antwaun Molden has gone up draft boards after running an excellent 40 time. Molden has very good size and is a terrific natural athlete. The Giants need depth at cornerback, since R.W. McQuarters and Sam Madison are really old and not very good anyway.
33. Washington - DT DeMario Pressley, North Carolina State
DeMario Pressley's motor is nothing special, but he is good at shedding blocks and he is blessed with immense amounts of athletic ability.
34. Cincinnati - OT/OG Oniel Cousins, UTEP
Cincinnati needs offensive line depth, and Cousins possess versatility. Cousins is great out of his stance, and is very powerful, but he needs to refine his technique.
35. Atlanta - TE Brad Cottam, Tennessee
Alge Crumpler was cut, and for good reason. Brad Cottam is raw, but he has looked good in offseason workouts.
36. Baltimore - DE Jason Jones, Eastern Michigan
Jason Jones is a good pass-rushing hybrid, and Baltimore's pass rush could be better. He hasn't seen top competition, but Jones has great size and is very athletic.
