Tyler Graunke, QB, Hawaii
Measurables:
Height-6-0: A little below average height for a QB and will make it harder to see over the line.
Weight-185: Very, very small for a Qb’s weight and definitely needs to bulk up.
40-4.72: An average 40 time for a QB and could stand to get better since he is undersized.
Pro’s: He makes the quick reads and throws quickly. Tyler has decent footwork and has some mobility. Also he has nice throw power. Graunke has nice touch and accuracy on long throws. He is very tough and will take the beating in order to make the accurate throw. Also Tyler has nice accuracy on intermediate throws. Tyler is willing to block on the screen and willing to block on the run.
Con’s: Can he take a snap under center and is he a product of the system? He has a weird release and bad mechanics. Also he has little starting experience. Sometimes he stares down his target. Tyler needs to bulk up. He sometimes tries to force throws into double coverage. Graunke has bad touch on dump off passes and on short throws.
QB Note: Throws right handed and has a mixed style of over-the-top and side armed.
Projection: Mid 6th RD – UDFA
Comparison: Colt Brennan: They both are products of the same system. They both have similar size and mechanics. Graunke has a lot more toughness and accuracy than Colt Brennan. Colt is a poor man’s Tyler Graunke.
