Sam Bradford Scouting Report

Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma**

Measurables:

Height-6-5: A good height for a QB and it allows him to see over the line easier.

Weight-213: It’s a little below average weight for a QB and he could stand to gain 10-20 pounds.

40- 4.72: It is an average 40 time for an NFL QB.

Pro’s: Sam has amazing throw power and very good accuracy and touch on intermediate-long passes. He reads the field to find his receiver very well. Also he has decent mobility to move the chains by running. Bradford has a nice release and decent mechanics. He’s definitely a pure pocket passer.

Con’s: He has a little below average pocket presence and only average footwork. He has below average touch on dump off passes. Occasionally he tries to force the ball into tight windows. Lastly he goes down on sacks too easily.

QB Note: He throws right handed and over-the-top.

2009 Projection: Top 15 Picks

2010 Projection: Top 10 Picks

2011 Projection: Top 5 Picks

Comparison: Peyton Manning: Both have the same height and both have some speed. They both go down easy on sacks and they both have great accuracy. Manning has better pocket precense but they both they have relatively the same accuracy on intermediate-long passes. Bradford did have a better comp % as Peyton Manning as a freshman.
