Adoptable Rats

Boston and Monkey

Arrived: June 10, 2008

Marking: Pink Eyed White (Boston), Black Irish Dumbo (Monkey)

Age: 3 - 10 months

Recommended for: any responsible pet owner

Description:

There is no less likely pair like these two:

  •  Boston, a 10 month old gentle giant who likes nothing more but to take naps and snacks
  •  Monkey, a 3 month old squirt who likes to show off his pin-ball impersonation whenever he gets the chance.

These guys will provide their new home with the best of both worlds: a (hyper) active, playful rat to make you laugh and a squishy man rat to cuddle with.

Boston came to the rescue with a serious weight issue. His new owner will need to refrain from giving him unnecessary treats (even when he puts on his trademark "pity me, I'm hungry" look) and to provide him with plenty of exercise.

Monkey wants nothing but attention, attention, and even more attention. He's getting more and more comfortable about being picked up. He loves to hand wrestle, popcorn (think Mexican Jumping Bean), and climb anything that gets in his way. He's also been known to give kisses :)

I know I'm not supposed to play favorites, but these two have a very special way about them. Come meet them and you'll see what I mean.

How to Adopt

All of our fosters that enter our home become our family members. I hope you understand that after all the money and time we have invested in these little creatures, we only want the best possible home for our family members.

  • Step 1:  Read the Adoption Requirements. Do your research. Rats are not as low maintenance as most people think. They require a large cage and daily interaction time. For example: can you set aside an hour/day to play with your rats?
  • Step 2: The blog section chronicles the daily life/mischiefs of our current adoptable rats. If you have a minute, do check it out as it will give you a chance to know your potential rats better.
  • Step 3: Please go to our Adoption Forms page and fill up the adoption questionnaire.
  • Step 4: Once you are approved, we will send you an adoption contract through email and arrange a time to meet.
