My Suspension
The Mods on the suspension consist of a custom bracket on the front leafspring mount point to locate the leafspring 3/4 of an inch away from its factory position. The bolt shown in the picture has a tube welded through the frame for strength and a grade 8 bolt through the frame, leafspring and bracket. The wheel well lip was cut off with a whiz wheel carefully, and the inside bump in the wheelwell in the pictures was pushed in useing a pumpjack. This was all completed with the car painted but very carefully. The Back of the leafspring was drilled and tapped to locate the leafspring over 3/4 of an inch. The 8 3/4 is an factory with a body with the small sbody brakes with aftermarket Moser axles, with 4 3/4 bolt pattern, and the drums were drilled to accept this application. the wheels are 15x8 Cragar SS with a custom ordered backspace of 5 inches. The tires are 275/60R/15 Nitto 555R Drag Radials. When doing this conversion i decided to remove the undercoating from my wheelwells. When it was completed and painted it looked beautiful, that beauty has now been disturbed by the numerous nicks from this sticky tires, that yea will pick up huge amounts of stones even when they are cold, so take this into account when decideing on tires. The Caltracs were also ordered for this application, and The split monoleafs were ordered to a hieght of SuperStock springs.
