Hello Fellow Generals!!!
We all had a great time a the reunion last year. I will be keeping this site up for us to visit from time to time.
Cathy Unfress (Thorpe) had mailed out a CD recently containing all of the Reunion photographs. Alot of these are also on this website.
Please keep me informed of your whereabouts by clicking on the link Send Personal Info.
Then head to the Reunion Blog to catch up with old friends. Find out what alumni are up to these days and who is planning to come to the reunion.
Don't miss the Photo Gallery on the left. I have uploaded old photos from my albums and the yearbook. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions!!
This was probably the last picture taken of Mike. It was at our last committee meeting. He was so looking forward to the reunion and wanted more than anything to make this a great time for everyone. Our meetings and the reunion will not be the same without him. |

Memories are the unfinished pages to our years; the only light to our quickly passing times. Memories remind us of our musty smelling classrooms and the long lunch lines in which we've waited; the mixed emotions that we experienced when spring season came around and the agony of defeat when our class lost in competition at the rally. And, last but not least, the tears that fell at graduation when we finally realized there would be no more high school. Some memories may seem insignificant at the present time but they will all make up the pages and chapters to our "high school days" and none will be too easily forgotten.

Staying in Shafter this year and going to Shafter High really led me through a process of "Americanization." Though I had to experience "culture shock" through Mr. Hatcher's treatment at first, I am thankful fo rthe chance tof having him teach me Marx' theories and everything about ethnocentrism. Also I'd like to say "thank you" to all my other teachers, to my friends and especially to Glenn Handel's family for having so much patience in showing me the "American Way of Life." Last but not least, I want to thank my parents back home in Germany, "Youth for Understanding" and, of course, my American host family for making this beatiful year possible for me. Thank you,
Elke Weber
