After thoughtsIt's 2008 now and I've had plenty of time to reflect on the experience... it was great!Would I do it again - oh yes!Top Tips:

using motorway service station facilities was a great discovery. Showers and wash rooms meant I could keep myself and clothes relatively clean.

gloves with good padding are now part of my cycling gear. I made the trip with thin unpadded gloves, it took over a month to get my fingers back into shape. At one stage I could hardly open a Mars Bar!

I found a lot of the main roads a lot better than I expected and could make good time.

But as the headwind picked up there was a lot to be said for abandoning the Great Glen wind tunnel and heading on to more sheltered back roads

Future Plans:

At least one more LEJOG, I'd like to go full tilt and get a new personal best. I'd wait for a good backwind - then phone in sick! er just kidding boss.

If I can find the time an off road MTB version would be good.
