RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

I have been using communications radios on and off since 1979. In 1985, I statrted using the radio more often ,tranmitting from the mobil with a Cobra 148, D-104 microphone and a small magnet mount antenna. I went by the handle Lone Ranger, unit 015. As time passed, I bought more radios for my growing hobby. In 1992, another local operator got me into dx-ing. He had a Cobra 148 modified with upper frequencies. I tried calling on the call frequency and got a responce from a station in Belgium. From that day on, I was hooked. I had my Cobra 148 modified and began dx-ing. My first contact was from Italy and it ended up being my first confirmed contact also I have used radio's like Uniden Grant, the Superstar 3600 and 3900, the Galaxy Mirage 88, and the Galaxy 99V. My base stations include Galaxy Saturn, Cobra 2000, RCI 2980, 2 Washington Base stations , an old Cobra 142, and a Cobra 89GTL.
