"I have served with many outfits and hope to serve with a few more. I shall be lucky if I am again allowed to associate with men of the calibre of the 25th. It is the finest unit I have ever commanded, with a morale and a capacity for work that got the job done despite the obstacles that were encountered. Higher commanders have always praised the work of the 25th. The Group's support of the B-29s, both when pioneering early operations in India and China and during the final assault upon Japan from Tinian, did much to shorten the war."
