Sorry for the lack of news lately, but i have had many a2 coursework deadlines to meet. Anyway. This is a big Update as it covers all the news between Feb 09 and now.
Firstly Jon Cassar, one of the key people behind the production of the show (executive producer sonce season 1) isn't going to be involved in the next season, Jon has been responsible for much of the awsomeness that we have seen over the last 7 years and I wish him the best of luck with his new project, a TV series called Washington Field - Source
but good news is that 24's 8th season has been confirmed and is due to start filming in May - Source
there are currently a few tidbits of information regarding Season 8 including casting information, its geographical setting, its timeframe relating to Season 7 and a few storyline hints floating around the internet, these have been added to the spoilers page.
News regarding a 9th season is very ambigious at the moment, Producer David Fury is said to be renewing his contract for 2 more seasons - Source, and 24 is ranked the 2nd highest TV show in america for revenue made from commercials aired during the show - Source, which i think Fox would find hard to ignore. Despite this the show has only been confirmed for a season 8, and Howard Gordon has hinted that Season 8 may be the last TV outing for the show - Source ,but we may see confirmation for a Season 9 within the next month as around May time is when Fox announces renewals.
Kiefer Sutherland is also staring in the film Monsters VS Aliens which is currently showing at most cinemas, someinemas offer showings in 3D.

I have recently been in contact with a member of the 24ukpodcast website and I am excited to report that their next podcast which goes live tomorrow (friday), will contain an interview with a member of the 24 Cast. I have been asked not to reveal the identity of the cast member in question, but I will say that it is deffinately going to be worth listening to, and that I can't wait. Well, where to start?, Season 7 Premiered nearly 2 weeks ago and episode 5 airs on Sky1 tomorrow at 21:00. Was it worh the wait?

Kiefer and the gang have been promoting Season 7 in Munich and London, for photo's of that see here . On Friday (just gone, 23/01/09) Kiefer appeared on ITV's This Morning as well as the Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1. Carlos Bernard (Tony) and Annie Wersching (Renee Walker) also appeared on BBC Breakfast. Until 30/01/09, you can listen again to Kiefer on the Chris Moyles show here on BBC Iplayer.
I have updated the Season 7 page with information on the Region 2 Release of the Season 7 DVD, including it's coverart. I have also updated the Merchandise Page with news of a Tenth 24 Declassified Novel.
On a more disappointing note Kiefer Sutherland and Howard Gordon have been in the news this week stating that they think Season 8 will be the show's final Season. But they did say that the hope to finally make a 24 Movie (which they have talked about and postponed for the last 4 Years) when the show ends, Kiefer stated on the Chris Moyles Show that some of it could be set in London. - Source 1, Source 2
