Kilmartin is in the very heart of Mid-Argyll, and is close to the town of Lochgilphead (8 miles), and is only 30 miles from Oban - the Gateway to the Isles.

Tayvallich, Tarbert and Ardfern are Meccas for yachtsmen, as is the Crinan Canal which runs from Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne to the West Coast at Crinan. You are rewarded with stunning views of the islands of Mull, Jura and Arran from much of Mid-Argyll.

The area has some of the best fishing in Scotland (freshwater and sea fishing), and the south end of Loch Awe lies only 4 miles from Kilmartin village. There are also some good riding schools, and golf courses, and sandy beaches at Crinan Ferry and Kilmory Knap.
