| Kilmartin Glen has one of the largest collections of Pre-historic artefacts in Britain, which include Stone Circles, Standing Stones, Cup-and-Ring Markings, and a unique alignment of Chambered Cairns stretching south from the village. |

| Also in the Glen is the historic hill fort of Dunadd, the stronghold of the earliest Scots (who came over from Ireland), and the crowning place of the early Scottish Kings. |

| The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, and borders on to the River Add and the Crinan Canal, and includes the Moine Mor peat-bog an area designated as being of Special Scientific Interest. There are some outstanding walks and plenty of interest for the amateur (or professional) botanist, ornithologist or photographer.
