I have loved collecting sports cards ever since I can remember. There was always something special about opening a pack of cards and hoping to get a card of that star player or that guy you envisioned was superman. My childness never wore off as I grew up and still to this day I love to collect baseball cards. I am a collector just like everyone else that uses my program.
I started to collect just one individual, Cal Ripken, and soon saw the collection grow faster then imagined. My simple paper and pen couldn't keep up with my collection, and I soon found it difficult to keep track of what I had and didn't have. I tried a few different applications to help keep track of my collection, but they were either outdated, too expensive, or just hard to use. Luckily for me, I got interested in computers and then software development. I decided one day to create a simple program to keep track of only my 'Ripken' cards just for myself. That is where it all began.
After showing a few friends my program they recommended making a program that would store mulitple players, mulitple sports, etc. and make it available for others to use. After initial hesitation, I decided to give it a shot. A simple concept of a small program ended up blossoming into much more than I ever really planned over a few years. I am now working on my third version of Sports Card Collection that is open for everyone to use.
My goal for Sports Card Collection is simple; I want people to use and enjoy what I have created. That's why I try to create new features, upgrade the program in any way possible, and give free updates on all future versions. I want Sports Card Collection to offer more than any other sports card collecting software out there because I take pride in what I have created and I want to see people enjoy their sports card collections.
