Well done to those who turned out for this Sunday's Junior League. It has been an arratic season with various groups turning up and then disappearing again. Therefore it isd only right rhat the teams who showed up regularly with a full compliment of players have done the best.
There was one more week scheduled for the Junior League, however the outcome for this season is already decided and the Isleworth team of junior school pupils cannot now be caught. Dickerage adventure Playground have finished in second place, beating Hampton Hill into third place by just one point.
Next Month we will hold a tournament arranged on the same basis to act as an end of league individual tournament, when medals and trophies will be preesented.

SUNDAY THE 10TH of FEBRUARY
Today was a different day. I wasn't expecting a huge number after a few disappointing turn outs, but today we had a number of new players who made it all worthwhile. With fifteen players we were able to divide into three groups of five for the first round of matches.
The Team representing Isleworth did well with two players finishing in the top 5.
Teddington School featured for the first time in the league, represented by Joe, James and Adil. For their first venture into competitive table tennis they did well, and hopefully had an enjoyable afternoon. Congratulations to Harry Kershaw on finishing 11= out of fifteen players at only eight years of age.

WEEK 3 Sunday 2nd December 2007
Well it was a wet and windy day and we might have expected a better turn out. But it is no surprise that the teams doing best are the one's where the teams have all their players turn up.
With only one player from Hampton Hill and Hampton School both teams had to concede too many points. Archdeacon having no players representing them obviously lost ground with no points this month.

Sunday 4th November 2007
Well done to those who remembered and those who managed to participate this week. It was not the best turnout by any means, with only twelve players, but those who took part had a good afternoon
It was good to see some new players having a go especially Harry Kershaw who gave a lot of more experienced players something to think about. At only eight years old he is a great prospect for the future.
With no players representing Hampton School it allowed Twickenham Brunswick players the chance to move up the table to top spot. Well done to Dickergae on making up ground this week

Sunday 14th October.
What a mixed response, unfortunately we cannot run a table tennis league without players who are prepared to turn out to represent teams. With no players from Hampton Hill and none from Ashford, and no reserve players to make up teams from our home club, it was evident we could not start a league as such this year.
However Fifteen players did arrive and there were three players to represent Isleworth Blue School, Archdeacon Cambridge, Dickerage Adventure Playground , Hampton School and Twickenham Brunswick. So we held a Team Tournament. Players were split evenly between three groups and the players in each group played each other.1st to 5th places were then put in groups of three to find a ranking for all fifteen players.
The teams finishing positions were then determined by the accumulative ranking points the best teams having the fewest ranking points.
Hampton School having some of the most experienced players, finished first with a first, second and fourth place. 7 Points
Isleworth Blue School finished in a well earned second place.
Well done to all those who turned up and participated in an busy afternoon of table tennis.

Next Junior league date will be Sunday the 4th November 2007... But the format will be tha same as for the first week as it is the only possible way to run a competition not knowing who is going to arrive.
We are hoping that this yerars league will be the best yet. With more junior players at the club than ever before we are hoping for better than ever attendances on league afternoons. However the young players at the club have a busy schedule with National Cadet and National Junior League Fixtures as well as London Junior Ranking Tournaments.
Matches are fixed for Sundays the 14 th October, 4 th November, 2 nd December, 10 th February, 9 th March, 6 th April
Well its all over for another year. Sunday 24th March was our final day for league competition but the turn out was so poor we ended with an individual tournament for the 11 players who arrived..
Well done to those who came and participated.
Firstly congratulations to Ashford Table Tennis Club on retaining the Twickenham Brunswick Junior League Trophy for the second year. Ashford finished 38 games ahead of the next team and could not have been caught had all the teams turned up and won all their games.
Congratulations too, to Dickerage Adventure Playground on arriving every week with 3-4 plaayers and persevering against some very strong specialist table tennis clubs. I think the teams attitude was exceptionally good! Keep on practising you are all potentially very good players.Thankyou also to Ken for accompanying the team each week and for supporting me on a very busy afternoon.
On the day we played an individual tournament with all the players in two pools of mixed ability. After the first round matches the top three from each group played in a BAND A round robin tournament and those coming 4th 5th or 6th played in the BAND B competition.
The Band A competition was won bty Richard Varley of Ashford and the Band B competition by Luke Ravenscroft of Twickenham Brunswick.

Last Sunday the 9th April 2006 saw the last meeting of the Southwest Middlesex Junior League. Sixteen players arrived which meant that two teams had to play with just just two players. It is good to report that three new players arrived on this occasion taking the total number of participating players to thirty.
Ashford TTC started off the day with quite a sizeable lead over the other teams and inspite of having only two players managed to hold on to that lead to take first place. The home teams Brunswick B and Brunswick A finished in 2nd and 3rd places respectively, Dickerage APG last year's winners finished in 4th place with Whitton and Hampton finishing 5th and 6th respectively.
