Welcome to the Scout page.
We have 4 adult Leaders, Jim is the Scout Leader with three Assistant Scout Leaders, Mariana, Paola and Erik, with all four being assisted by two parent helpers, Fergus and Lindel. Fergus looks after the equipment and makes sure that everything is okay. Lindel helps Jim with record keeping and takes care of responses and transport arrangements for camps or other events. Their assistance is invaluable because it allows the Leaders to concentrate on youth activities and continue with programmed events.
At present, the Troop is made up of 3 patrols - Hawk, Tasmanian Tigers and Platypus - who meet at the hall on Friday nights at 7.30 for two great hours of fun and learning.
Whilst it is a still a young Troop, many of them now have a Jamboree under their belt. They are an enthusiastic lot who want to get out and about all of the time. In 2006 we had a great time preparing for the Jamboree with two 4 night camps, one at Phillip Island and the other at Clifford Park. Now in 2008 we have had another great camp at Phillip Island on the ANZAC Day weekend along with the Cub and Venturer sections. We had a total of 51 people which was a fantastic effort. Check out the photos on our photo website. We have had many Cubs move into our section taking our number to 28. This means that we have a good mix of older and younger youth to make it a great learning environment for the the youth.
The 2008 calendar has already seen a canoeing camp on the Yarra, plus the ANZAC Day weekend camp at Phillip Island. The remainder of the year will be busy again with a PL Camp, a mystery hike / camp and the the Family Camp in October at Bay Park. The calendar for terms 3 and 4 is yet to be developed.
With so many youth now in the Troop, the Scout section is on the look out for new Leaders and parent-helpers to take the strain of f the current people. It is not difficult to become a Leader and even easier to become a helper. Please speak with a Leader or helper to find out more details.
Notices for our events and outings will be listed on the site as they become available.

Like most Scout Troops, we offer '3 for free'. Come and have three visits for free and if you like it, then join up.
This is a great way to have a look at Scouting at no cost, except for your time and cost of any activities that may be happening at the time. Yes, there are a couple of forms to fill out, but we need those for insurance and contact purposes. For more information, conact a Leader.
