Greetings, I am so glad to have you here!
It is probably an educated guess to say that if you stumbled across my website, you found me on weightwatchers.com or have been part of one my challenges. I do not know where I would be without all the support I have received over the years on the ww boards. To date I have led 5 challenges and recently decided to take a break from leading challenges in hopes that I could collect my own thoughts and get my life right where it needs to be. I love helping and cheering on others but it does take a lot of commitment and at the time, I was in the middle of a bad relationship that required me to do some serious soul searching. I have the best support system ever and I have a desire and determination that outbeats anybody so I just know I will succeed in anything I set my mind to.
It amazes me when I run into people who never knew me when I was heavier and I show them pictures- they are astounded and I am proud. I love showing the pictures off because it really does fall in line with that famous saying "if I can do it, so can you!"
Why did I choose Weight Watchers? I was determined not to spend anymore of my years as the fat mom who hid from the world. I wanted to be a fun, fit mom and enjoy life with my son. So that is exactly what I have done and I couldn't be more proud. I have sort of hit a rut but I refuse to give up because I succeed at whatever I put my mind to! I refused to spend one more day as a prisoner in my own body and life based on some negative comments that thought they could tell me otherwise. I hit lifetime in August 2004, 2 days after my 26th birthday- one of the best days I can remember.
This website is a work in progress and I will update as time goes on. Feel free to browse and let me know what you think! I dedicate this website to my son Brennan Lee, because he is my inspiration because he has overcome every obstacle that stands in his way so if he can do it, so can I!
For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for running. In high school I was one of the fastest girls and I was one of those odd balls that looked forward to the days we had to run the mile. This website is my way of committing to running because I decided that I will be running Grandma's Marathon on June 21, 2008 and I can't wait to do it because I will succeed. I may have failed this year and let unnecessary things get in my way but I have the best support system behind me and I really learned an important lesson- I need to do what I want.
My new running blog is at http://runningjaime.blogspot.com Check it out and let me know if you have any questions, advice or comments!
Remember don't be embarrassed on your before, love and embrace yourself now because that will just make this journey so much more memorable and exciting along the way. Yes the pictures are shocking but they are part of me and I know I will never go back because I have the tools needed and the willpower to succeed at anything I set my mind to. The mind is a powerful tool- use it, to the fullest of your abilities, you won't be sorry that you did. So what do you say? Let's get started and work towards our ultimate goal of being a fit, healthy person! Determination is 3/4 of the battle so now we just need to get a plan- are you ready? I know I am in this for a lifetime!
Thanks,
Jaime
