The real name of South Gate's mascot was the Red Rambling Roses. A local sports writer called us in the news paper the Red Rambling Roses. In a few years, the city of South Gate changed the name to the Ramblers, then from the Ramblers to the Rams. The information about how it change was not found but we know how the transformation of a rose to a ram took about 70 years.
