Basically, an affiliate program is a program where the affiliate, the person promoting the program, send leads or sales to the program of the merchant, the owner, and gets compensated for it. The commission fees can be on a per-sale/lead basis or residual income. The promoter place some ads, send a few emails, make sales/leads and GET THE MONEY. That's it!

How To choose the best Programs

This is by far, the most important question you may ask yourself before joining any affiliate program. Having there gazillions  of programs on the net, should not be an easy task. However, there are some point that I personally recommend. This is not the law, is just what is working for me.

• Look for a program that appeals to you. If you feel comfortable with your program, your chances to succeed improve drastically. You may look at our Top Rated programs page for an in-depth review of some programs that actually we're doing very well with it.
• Do some research about the program you are considering to join. See how many time they have been in business, look for some testimonials, ask them for some information, look at their training or resource center. By the way, check this program's training site to get a better idea about what you have to look for.
• Target your market. Focus on what product or service fits you best and go for it. Don't try to sell everything under the sun, because you will end up selling anything!.
• In the compensation plan, look for a high commission fee, or a residual income, or better yet, both.
• Is a common statement that joining programs early after launched will improve your chances to succeed, so if a new program pops up, take a look immediately.

Here's another tough question. I've been involved in internet marketing since 1999 and have seen many "Get-Rich-Quick" schemes. Have been ripped-off sometimes, so I hand picked some of the best programs that I know they really works, I putt it all together under the Top Rated page for your convenience. But first, let me tell you which ones don't work

• All "get-rich-quick" programs. Avoid them. They only will steal your money. Nobody will make a million in 24 hours just following a 26-page booklet.
• Get-paid-to programs. Well, I've tried this "opportunity" and found that after spending two hours daily in front of my computer doing this programs for a whole month, all I have is 25 cents and a blue face. Avoid them.
• Chain schemes like the one telling "send $5 to five people along with this letter and you will make half a million!
• Any program that tells you have to do nothing to make big profits. Hey, nobody is going to give you money for doing nothing. If you ever found somebody doing that, please let me know!!!
