New Found Old Love

This website is probably the best kept secret of the whole Internet. Lately when i was zapping trough all the television channels on my television set, I bumped on my old time favorite TV series. The eighties hit series The A-team, and I still love those crazy old fellows.

Did you know, that for recording this great series they used six different GMC Vans in the show? Those could being wrecked in the insane stunts, but two Vans were kept in perfect order for close-up shots. So no damages to those two GMC Vans was allowed. They also used a lot of other Vans in the show, even from other brands like Chevrolet and Ford. Those Vans where used for all kinds of crazy stunts.

My heroes BA, Face, Murdock and Hannibal are the A-Team. However the black GMC van is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars on the show.

The Notorious GMC Van

One of the original six vans used for the show is displayed in the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Keswick, northern England. Another sits on the Universal Studios back lot with flat tires and faded paint and is available for tourists to photograph. The Van of the A-team is a 1983 GMC Van of the G-Serie

A little rumors I have so say it, that the show lost its GMC sponsorship when they removed the GMC name from the van completely during the last season. The rest of the time it was on the left rear door but was barely visible as they sprayed a light coat of the black paint over it so it wouldn't stand out so much.
