We are currently looking to adopt an auto burglary/theft prevention program that other agencies have. The program name is “CAT” Combat Auto Theft.  The program basically will be for volunteers. The community members that volunteer will be getting a reflecting badge sticker that will be place on the back window of your vehicle. The volunteers will also get a form to complete and allowed the police to stop the vehicle if the vehicle is being operated during the hours of 1:00 AM and 05:30 AM.  When the officers stop the car, they will ask the driver if he/she have permission to drive the car.  If the person do not provide the right information, that person will be detained until we reach the owner of the vehicle. This program has worked in other parts of town. I’ll keep you updated when we have done all the paper work.
