1344 cadets made up more than half the team of cadets we took to RAF Cosford on 30 Sep 07 to compete on behalf of No.1 Welsh Wing against the 5 other Wings in our Region. Last year we were second overall, and the result was the same this year, but this year we were second by only 1 point - so frustratingly close!!
The marriage of 372 Barry squadron band with 1344 band to form the Wing band has once again proven to be a successful one. We won the Fanfare, Percussion and Full Band sections, and will now represent our Region at the ATC National Band Competition. In addition to the band, we won the full bore shooting, aircraft recognition and First Aid competitions, and whilst we came 2nd in the model aircraft section, our model of the Typhoon fighter was the highest scoring of the competition.
Cpl Adam Thompson is seen below collecting the First Aid trophy.
