Polly Vacher, a famous pilot who has flown around the world, visited Cardiff Airport as part of her "Wings Around Britain" fund raising flight. She is landing at 212 airports and airfields in the UK, carrying disabled passengers on each leg of her flight. When we met her, she had already raised £500,000, and her target is to raise £2million pounds to set up a trust fund to pay for disabled people to have a Flying Scholarship. Polly is full of energy and enthusiasm, and she was delighted that our cadets were there to meet her. All present signed her airport directory to prove that she had landed at Cardiff, and 2 hours later she was on her way to Swansea with a man who could not walk.
