Annual BBQ 16 Sep 07
160 people were present at our annual BBQ in Maindy Barracks where cadets treated us to some of the performances they will give at the Regional Field Training Day at DCAE Cosford on 30 September. Those who arrived early were treated to our Ensemble performance of Alice Cooper's "Poison". Later we saw the Drill display and then the Full Wing Band performance which are both joint ventures between 372 Barry Squadron and ourselves. Some cadets were given awards for Gliding and Flying Scholarships, and CWO Robert Peace was presented with his ATC Warrant. I thanked Robert for his part in preparing the Full Band performance, but I was not aware at that time that there were also 2 others whom I should also have thanked, and they are Sian Davies and Caroline Bradley of 372 Barry Squadron. My thanks go to all 3, because the performance we witnessed was very impressive, and in the 4 years that 1344 and 372 have joined forces to form the Wing band, this has to be the best of them all. Well done Sian, Caroline and Robert, and good luck to all on the 30th.
