12 Computers

Intro:

Of all the syncs featured on my site (all three!) this is probably the best in terms of  overall synchronization between film and CD. For example, Exit music (for a film), plays at the end of the movie when Cole dies and realizes his "dream" was actually a childhood memory.  It's kind of eerie hearing the song as the credits roll!  There's also a connection here to the Dr. Eraser sync, as Jeffery's dad makes a reference to Dr. Strangelove during his speech on the dangers of science. This is a bad ass movie and a bad ass cd. So when you mix the two you get 200% badassness! Enjoy!*

*Credit for this discovery goes to Leighton Jones, who stumbled upon this sync in Oct. of 2003, no guide was provided with the sync though, so here's my go at one.

 Instructions

Start CD at beginning of movie when the sunlight appears behind the earth that becomes the Universal - an  MCA complany logo. Repeat CD until end.

Clues to look for

Track 1: Airbag

"In the next world I am born again, I'm back to save the universe" as movie opens up.

"In an interstellar burst I am back to save the universe" as Cole has reoccurring dream of man being shot at airport. We later find out that Cole is actually watching himself die. He died trying to save mankind from the disease.

Interlude begins as scene switches to Cole underground in prison dormitory.

Music changes and syncs to Cole being called up for "volunteer duty" by guard.

Music changes as Cole walks down tunnel on his way to the surface.

Music stops and you hear beeping  as Cole boards elevator.

Track 2: Parnoid Android

Paranoid Android begins as movie cuts to scene of Cole outside on the surface.

"What's that, what's that!" right as bear appears and scares the shit out of cole.

Music syncs perfectly with bear running away

"You don't remember, you don't remember, why don't you remember my name, off with his head man" as flock of birds comes out and surprises cole. Fits with tension in scene.

"Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me" part of song begins on cue with Cole's discovery of the 12 monkey's logo.

Music syncs very well to the events that follow after Cole returns from the surface.

"That's it sir, you're leaving" as Cole is questioned by the scientists and is offered a deal to cut down his sentence.

Song goes back to the heavy guitar part/solo as tension escalates in scene.

Track: 3 Subterranean homesick alien

As track 3 begins, scene changes to poetry reading

Baltimore, April 1990 appears on bottom of screen as additional guitars and drums kick in.

"I keep forgetting the smell of the warm summer air" fits perfectly with Cole's charachter. Due to the outbreack of the disease, civilzation lives underground now. Life on the surface is now just a distant memory.

"I come from a town where you can't smell" syncs with Cole being questioned and detained by authorities, he literally is a homesick subterranean alien.

"Up above aliens hover making home movies for the folks back home of all these weird creatures" fits perfectly with theme of animals ruling the world in the present.

"Outsider, outsider!" as kathyrn is about to enter room to speak with Cole.

Music fits wtih Kathyrn and Cole's conversation

"I'd tell all my friends, they'd never believe me, they'd think i've lost it" as Cole answers questions from Kathyrn who obviously thinks he's deranged.

Outro guitar part syncs perfectly to Cole being led down police station corridor.

Track 4: Exit Music (for a film)

Exit Music
begins playing as we enter scene of Cole being escorted out of jail.

"Dry all your tears" as a wet Cole is dried down.

"Pack and get dressed" as a naked Cole is being prepared to be taken to the hospital.

"Before your father hears us, before all hell breaks loose" as Cole enters ward, fits the theme of Jeffery Goines character. This reoccurs during the 2nd playing of the CD.

"Sing us a song" as Jeffery begins speaking non sense.

Track 5: Let Down

Nothing too special worth mentioning.

Track 6: Karma Police

Begins on cue to one of Cole's flashbacks/reoccurring dream.

"Arrest this man he talks in maths" as Cole has conversation with Jeffery

"For a minute there, I lost myself" as Jeffery starts freaking out and doctors have to be called in.

Track 7: Fitter Happier

Fitter Happier beings almost on cue as we enter scene of patients at the hospital watching tv.

"Be kind to all animals" as they show gruesome animal experiments. Also fits in with theme of Jeffery's animal activist nature.

"Concerned but helpless" as Jeffery asks cole what he's writing.

"Slower and more calculated, no chance of escape" again possibly more references to the hospital.

"Pig locked in a cage on antibiotics"

Track 8: Electioneering

Begins on cue as Jeffery begins his attempt to break Cole free.

The frantic nature of the song goes great with the escape.

"I will stop, I will stop at nothing"  fits twith Jeffery helping out Cole.

"When I go forwards, you go backwards, somewhere we will meet, when I go forwards, you go backwards, and somewhere we will meet" obviously a reference to time travel.

"I'll go backwards, you'll go frowards" as Cole is exiting the ward

Music comes to a stop as a drugged up Cole enters some random medical room. "Doctor, we have a visitor."

Track 9: Climbing Up the Walls

Song begins as we enter scene where Cole is surrounded by doctors and security. The song's burnt out feel goes perfectly with a drugged up and confused Cole.

"I am the key to the lock in your house, that keeps your toys in the basement, and if you get too far inside
You'll only see my reflection " fits well with theme of doctors trying to capture Cole, they hold the key to his freedom.

"I am the pick in the ice, do not cry out or hit the alarm, you know we're friends till we die" more references to Cole's attempted escape.

"And either way you turn, I'll be there, Open up your skull, I'll be there"

Music goes well with Cole's conversation with the "raspy voice man" in his head.

Song is Climbing Up the Walls, and that is exactly what the doctors believe is the only logical explanation to Cole's escape.

Begins right as Cole turns around and sees he's now in the present with the scientists.

Track 10: No Surprises

Music syncs well with rhythm of the scientists tapes and machinery.

"No arms and no suprises" and he is getting prepared for his mission.

"This is my final fit, my final belly-ache with.." as Cole is given another chance to redeem himself.

Interlude syncs perfectly with preparation of Cole before his time travel.

Guitar part at end of song syncs perfectly with cole being "launched" back to the past.

Track 11: Lucky

Lucky begins playing ironically, as he's taken to world war II by accident

Vibe of song fits the war scenes perfectly, very eerie vibe.

"I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll, this time, I feel my luck could change" as war is breaking out and Cole is left there to fend for himself.

Interlude goes well with kathyrn's lecture coming to a colose.

Track 12: The Tourist

Begins on cue as we enter scene where kathyrn gets kidnapped by Cole.

"Like i've seen a ghost" as a shocked Kathyrn sees Cole for the first time since his disappearance.

"Ask me where the hell I'm going" as Kathyrn and Cole ride in car together.

"Hey man slow down, slow down, idiot slow down, slow down" as they are driving.

Highlights from 2nd go around
:

Track 1: Airbag

Airbag begins on cue as Cole has reocurring dream once again.

"All the unborn chicken voices in my head" as evangelist spouts off about the end of time.

"You remember, you remember" as bum starts talking to Cole about the scientists ways of tracking people trough time travel.

Heavy guitar part syncs with the tension building as Cole and Kathyrn walk in on man getting attacked.

"Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me" part as Cole and Kathyrn get attacked

"Yuppies networking" as Cole identifies the pig head on top of the Federation for Animals Association building. The group consists of a bunch of wannabe yuppie activists.

"Before your father hears us" goes with Cole on his way to visit Jeffery at his father's lecture.

Exit Music (for a film) again, starts as we enter scene with jeffery .

"You came in" as Jeffery enters room were Cole is being detained.

Karma police syncs with Kathyrn being questioned by police in regards to her kidnapping

"Arrest this man, he talks in math" as police continue questioning her about Cole.

"For a mintue there, I lost myself, I lost myself"  as Cole comes back to consciousness. He is delirious and is convinced that the scientists are just in his head.

"Bound, no escape" as Cole lays bound on bed.

"No escape, in cage, on antibiotics" as a delirious cole continue to lay on bed.

Frantic pace of Eletioneering syncs with Kathryn freaking out about the discovery of the age of the bullet removed from Cole's leg. Fits well with her knocking stuff all over the place.

Highlights from 3rd go around

"
I'm back to save the universe" as Cole has another one of his flasbacks/reocurring dreams.

Music syncs well with animals roaming the streets, especially the guitars.

Music gets tense as Cole enters the airport and realizes it's his dream.

Subterranean Homesick Alien beings as Kathyrn notices Dr. Peterson on the front page of the paper and pieces everything together.

End of song syncs with Cole about to be gunned down

As Cole is shot music dies down.

As Cole lays dying Exit Music (for a film) begins!

"Wake up from your dream" goes PERFECTLY with plot. This was Cole's dream, now it's become reality.

"Drying your tears, today we escape" as Kathyrn cries over a soon to be dead Cole.

"Sing us a song" as it cuts to parking lot scene.

Fuzz bass part of song kicks in as we cut to close up of a young Cole's face.

Exit Music continues playing as credits begin to roll.
