Flying/Gliding
Cadets
can get the chance to experience Flying/Gliding as it is offered and this is
definitely a great opportunity that all Cadets should sign up for. This ranges
from a Glider or if you are really lucky a Fast Jet or the Red Arrows.
In
Cadets, you can get to fly in 2 types of Aircraft; the Vigilant Motor Glider
and the Grob Tutor Powered Aircraft. There is also an excellent chance to gain
a Scholarship and attain a solo status too in either Aircraft mentioned when
you 16 or over.
The
Flying and Gliding slots are usually on the weekend or during the school
holidays. Also on most Camps there are usually some Flying slots to offer; that means you could get a Flight in a Merlin or a Gazelle or a Chinook. For all, there are chances to
do some type of Flying or Gliding during your Cadet career and it is worth
doing as it is an experience of a life time that costs a very small amount, if
anything.
If
you look at the 'Forthcoming Events' on the Home Page, you will see there are
plenty of spaces available for Air Experience Flying (AEF), so as a Cadet you
just need to sign up so you do not miss out!
