
In keeping with an authentic portrayal of the Waffen-SS, the original rank structure is used. The following information indicates the prerequisites required to obtain the ranks illustrated.
· SS-Bewerber (Candidate): The new member starts with this rank, transfers from other reencting units start as a Schutze.
· SS-Schutze (Private): Promotion to this rank for new reenactors after completing two (3) recognized events as a 102nd member. Member will be authorized to wear the Das Reich cuff title if over 30 or reenacting over 5 years.
· SS-Oberschutze (Private, 1st Class): Promotion dependent on number of men holding Schutze rank in the Gruppe. Must have at least three men holding rank as Schutze.
· SS-Sturmmann (Corporal): Promotion dependent on number of men in the Gruppe as well as displaying adequate leadership qualities. Gruppe must have at least 4 members. Nominee must also make at least three (3) recognized events per year. Usually fulfills duties as Truppenführer (assistant squad leader) if there are no soldats holding Rottenführer in the Gruppe.
· SS-Rottenführer (Senior Corporal): Promotion dependent on number of men in unit. Must have between 7 and 9 members. Nominee must attend at least four (4) recognized events per year and display sufficient leadership qualites. Assigned duties as Truppenführer (assistant squad leader) or Gruppenführer (squad leader).
· SS-Unterführeranwarter (NCO Candidate): This is an interim position between the NCO ranks and lower enlisted ranks. Those enlisted men in the grades of Rottenführer and below, who were considered good NCO material were designated with insignia on their shoulder straps and titled as SS-Unterführeranwarter. Those who reenacted for 5 years or over wear a single stripe of tresse at the base of the shoulder board. Those who reenacted for less than 5 years wear a 4mm twisted cotton cord in the Panzer Waffenfarbe. Any member who is eligible for promotion to SS-Unterscharführer is required to wear this insignia for six events or six months, whichever comes first, while performing the duties of an Unterscharführer.
· SS-Unterscharführer (Sergeant): This is the first NCO rank and currently the highest rank this unit uses. This rank is currently the unit commander. As the unit grows, consideration will be given to expanding the rank structure. Promotion dependent on number of members in unit. Must have between 1 and 11 members. Nominee must display above average leadership and attend at least four recognized events per year.
SS-Scharführer (Staff Sergeant): This is currently the highest rank authorized in the unit and will eventually be the unit commander. As the unit grows to above 12 members, consideration will be given to expanding the rank structure and using this rank.

· SS-Oberscharführer (Platoon Sergeant)
· SS-Hauptscharführer (Master Sergeant)
· SS-Sturmscharführer (Sergeant Major)
· SS-Untersturmführer (2nd Lieutenant): Fulfills duties of Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Batallion Adjutant, or Propaganda Officer.
· SS-Obersturmführer (Lieutenant): Same as SS-Untersturmführer.
